I, as a person who doesn't watch VTubers or Twitch-sreamer-types period, actually got interested in watching Neuro-sama early on in her proper VTubing career. The early days of her, before Vedal's personality showed up and essentially took over the entire operation. was honestly one of the most interesting experiences on the internet that I have ever watched. It felt like watching some weird sheltered girl who'd only seen stories and such about real life babbling about the world around her. Instead of bullshit meme pictures and dumb collab garbage and all of the other Twitch cultural infestations, the chat was just a non-stop barrage of questions trying to lead it on into saying something 'controversial' (i.e. funny).
Back then she was more like Tay was way way back than how she is now. Having the dev of her keep that core schizophrenic tendencies and actually push her to continue down those absurdist trains of thought she would constantly go on and taking it completely seriously would be an endless supply of kino but instead of that I think we got just about the worst timeline possible: the peter pan autistic trannies/fags in the fanbase started what they always do to everything nerd-ish, devolve the entire community into self-references and dumb stupid sexual hue hue-isms and since Vedal is a passive whipped white guy that has no idea how to manage any form of community, it completely festered and now the entire thing, especially the /vt/ thread about her, is completely insufferable.
Even the first few collabs between Neuro and other indies were amazing to watch due to her schizo nature forcing all her collab partners into just being completely and utterly shellshocked. I was actually having fun watching those personalities interact when I would never
ever come close to watching them otherwise. Too bad Vedal didn't realize the gold mine that he had, and instead of trying to nurture that gold mine and keep sending her into new funny situations to bewilder people, he 'upgraded' all the fun out of her and then just stalled out on actually being useful in any real way. Instead the precious
dynamic and shipping wars and generic collabs with every popular nerd person nowadays is all there is. (I'm not a fan of the dad-daughter thing, or anything related to Vedal at all, if you can't tell already)
I really, really miss those very early Hiyori-era days, and I have that tiny hope another bot like that early Neuro-sama will come back someday, but the way modern AI LLM systems are now I think that might not be possible. They're simply too smart and tuned into sensibility to provide fun just by sheer babbling. The one time I find something truly interesting to my uber-autistic mind and it gets backstabbed and turned into offensive gutter trash. Well, at least there will always be clips of the good times...
(sorry for the sperg-out, but I needed this off my chest, forgive me)
