Battle of the Teutoburg Forest
3 Leigions, led by Varus, suffer a devastating loss at the Rhine River, letting Barbarians rule across the Rhine for the next 400 years. Though Rome might try, it could never recover from the loss. A few centuries later, the germanic tribes that occupied the area pushed inward and eventually goths were ruling rome. This battle was the beginning of the end for the Western Roman Empire.
