As an aside, vans or other work cars such as this are considered more "masculine" in Japan due to their connections with the blue collar workers. That said, I'm pretty sure vans have also entered the popular culture there as a vehicle for nampa, or even rapist

Exactly. The punishment, in terms of how light the prison sentence was, clearly did not fit the crime (at least in my opinion).

Even with the way that he died, I think he got off easy.

I really don't how you people were able to conclude that she is Jewish. There is absolutely no proof that she is besides having a name that some Israelis may have. This is fair, but within a generation immigrants will have the same TFR (total fertility rate) as the original inhabitants of the host country. I think South Korea, China, and Japan are going through something similar to other developed countries. The resources that could be shared among the citizens are perhaps spread a bit too thin. Cultural attitudes also go hand in hand with resource sharing. Another thing that really affects fertility is how people view children. Waayyy back they were considered an asset; now they are considered a liability. Having a posh comfy lifestyle isn't exactly conducive to a normal 2.3 TFR. Japan and South Korea's populations are inevitably going to half. At that point, I would wager that there may be a shift in fertility rate.

I took Japanese in college.
Alas, I suck at it.
I do want to relearn the language, if only to watch shows and movies. I prolly won't make it to Japan (or south Korea) but I can at least enjoy the culture from afar.
(And no I am not a weeb. Anime is shit and Mangas are hard to read. I also don't own a Kimono)

I'd love to visit Japan but cuz Big Airline arbitrarily makes it too expensive it's unfeasible really. I do love hearing about th culture(good or bad), and I like hearing about online shit. I wanna be able to read some novels or vns that don't get translated. Also can't stand anime cuz it's cringe 90% of the time and people will think I'm a weeb. (also cringe)

There is a VERY select few animes that I like, like maybe 3-4. I'd go to Japan for the history, countryside, cuisine, and experience, and maybe to get away from the TAHKSIK hellhole the US has become. Would I go to Akihabara? Maybe for a bit, but I want to see the REAL Nippon, not the fake shit weebs flock to. And you bet your ass imma visit the Godzilla statue. He's a real nigga.

I used Genki for self-study, but the program I'm in right now is using Japanese for Busy People. It's not a good textbook. It teaches you a phrase without explaining how the language behind it actually works, and then throws a half million vocab words that you're likely to forget at you.

It turned out that Mikeneko tried to sue some random postor from 5ch for defamation. She lost the case of course.
