* When I came out as trans at the start of the pandemic, I went to my doctor and asked for a referral for help. She responded by saying she didn’t know what trans meant. Then did not offer to learn or educate herself in any way. I ended up paying $9000 out of pocket for my top surgery because public funding required a referral from a GP, and there was no way to get a new doctor in 2020.
The audacity of this woman to complain she could not get a GP for referral at the start of the pandemic, when people couldn't get GP for actual health problems, and actually medically needed surgeries were delayed by months.
* Trans masc and experiencing perimenopause? Have fun never getting any medical care about literally debilitating symptoms. I didn’t realize I’d had brain fog for TWO AND A HALF YEARS until T made it go away.
I don't even know what she is talking about here. How could she has perimenopause for two and half years, then get the T which then made it go away? The T is what makes her experiencing perimenopause in the first place. Am I supposed to believe she started experimenting perimenopause simply because she identified as transmasc? The fuck?
* Related: I have a fibroid apparently and it took like a year to get a referral to a trans inclusive gyno - who is 40 minutes away by car - who I don’t see for another two weeks.
You know, I started writing something about how regular gyno is the same as a trans inclusive gyno, all the difference is basically that the regular one will do things like saying the
actual names of the organs in the female reproduction system - but then I realized I'm wrong; there is actually a good reason why a TIF would like to go to a trans inclusive gyno. A regular gyno will warn her that the T is very harmful to her female reproductive system, and might tell her to stop this right away. They might refuse doing things like prescribe her a local estrogen cream as long as she takes testosterone, for example. A Trans inclusive gyno, however, will play along and let her ruin her female reproductive system without so much as a peep of objection, if not outright encourage her to keep destroying it as long as she feels comfortable in her body, or whatever.
* The two pages of drug information I was given with my first vial of T didn’t even MENTION THE EXISTENCE of trans masc people. Not even ONCE.
Oh my god. Sorry the information pamphlet in the clinic or whatever you have been at didn't mention the zero point something percent population that takes T for cosmetics changes. You do know that the majority of people who take testosterone are men who actually needs it, men whoes body can't produce it itself or can't produce enough, don't you? Sorry not everything revolves around you people.
* Also, none of the T side effects I’m having problems with were things I was warned about. Instead it was all “this will impact your fertility” (good!), and lots of vague euphemisms like “bottom growth”, which didn’t in any way prepare me for the three days I spent sitting on ice packs when bottom growth started. A warning about 7/10 nerve pain would have been nice.
* Similarly, no one told me that “bottom growth” not only includes clitoral enlargement, but also the vulva becomes more scrotum-like. Which. Great! I have bottom dysphoria, so that’s helpful. But again, 7/10 nerve pain accompanied by “holy shit why does my junk look so different all of a sudden????” is something I would have appreciated knowing to expect.
I would like to point out something here. She complains she didn't get the full information about the possible side effects of the testosterone. Imagine if a detransitioner said that. Immediately, hundreds of posts about "how is it possible that every detransitioner say they didn't get the full information when I got 150 pages of possible side effects", tens of videos about "do your due diligence and you won't be surprised", "do your research before you medically transition, if you didn't do your research it's your fault" and tiktok videos of cruel mocking - "what, you didn't know this is what going to happen? How stupid can you be? Google testosterone side effects, there is planty of information online", etc. but here you have a trans identified person who says that. So as much as her constant whining is annoying as fuck (complaining about something she is ultimately happy about...), it actually has some merit. For us.
Anyway, this woman is so fucking entitled and her constant whining about the fact that the health care system doesn't bend itself over backwards for this tiny and relatively new minority and doesn't center itself around them and cater to their every whim when all they do is make themselves sick and be a burden on this already underfunded and understaffed system, is annoying as fuck.
If she actually bother to listen to other people she might find out that people with actual real medical conditions suffer just as much as her if not more from long waiting time, doctors who doesn't always know about certain things, comments from the doctors they don't like/find inappropriate/trigger them, and all kind of hassles (go here go there actually you have to go there first and get a referral from the doctor, actually you need to go to a different kind of specialist, make appointment for your GP so they would give it to you, actually you have to get a blood test first make appointment for the nurse, you need an MRI the nearest appointment is in 6 months meanwhile here take a prescription for pain medication, the medication prescribed is only in one drug store in this area you'll have to get there to take it, no you can't take a quantity worth of three months of this medication at once you have to come here every month and wait an hour and a half in line like every one else, etc. etc.).
