NordVPN Blocking KF?

I don't live in NZ, but I do use NordVPN and I've found that across numerous VPN servers I'm unable to access KF whatsoever. Or is KF blocking VPNs (more likely but doesn't make sense as the header shows advice for using a VPN). Says unable to establish secure connection. Sounds like top level filtering to me but who knows.

Sorry if it's been discussed before, I just want to be damn sure my VPN isn't blocking anything I'm trying to access. Cheers

EDIT:
It appears the CyberSec Feature built-in to NordVPN which is designed to "block ads and malware" also prevents users from connecting to KF. It is able to be disabled, but may be on by default. I talked to customer service and he said he had reported the issue and would roll out a fix. At worst, it's a soft-block. At best, it's a mistake caused by something unrelated to politics like server configuration or malicious file hosting.

In short: To browse KiwiFarms with NordVPN at this time, you must disable CyberSec!

Things aren't adding up here.

Are you using a separate VPN? or are you connecting directly?

How did you start this thread if it doesn't work?
Uhhhhhhhh turned it off?

Like I said I don't live in NZ so I don't really need a VPN, but I use Nord for most of my daily browsing which is why I noticed it but yes I turned it off.

Ok, sorry. Just tired and trying to determine if you are a troll or not. Thanks for the information on NordVPN. Looks like we may have a scandal brewing.

nord vpn only blocks because of cyber sec

Block dangerous websites. The main task of the CyberSec feature is to regularly scan website addresses against popular blocklists and protect users from getting involved in phishing scams and other cyber threats. So if a website you are about to visit is known for hosting malware, trackers, spyware or other malicious software, CyberSec reacts immediately and blocks your access.

Thank you for helping some confusion of my own. I'm not the OP but I had an issue with Nord too. I was using it to download some stuff and then went to 4chan and it was blocked. KF and 8chan as well. It was set for Canada so when the sites worked after turning it off, I spent the rest of the day pondering if Canada followed suit.

Thanks for the resolution! Thought it was just on my end - don't really need CyberSec because I have adblock anyway and now I don't need to turn off the VPN to browse based KF.

So, while we are on the topic of VPNs. Exactly how does one verify if a VPN is good? I mean, tons of people claim NordVPN is good, yet there are review sites that claim it does indeed log its users.

Same with PIA, exactly how would one of you verify whatever a service is good or not? I do have a good one, but it's always good to keep an open mind, and tons of people seem to like PIA.
