It's harder to follow than the bible, ridiculous, dumb and weird shit constantly happens all the time in the stories and the only reason some men pretend to think it is cool is because they think other men think it is cool and that they are supposed to think it is cool because it has become a masculine trope but hardly any of them have ever actually read any of the stories themselves or watched any of the operas telling them and even then they only really like the ancillary themes (dragons, big dogs, swords, etc) but not the actual stories unless those stories are completely rewritten and streamlined for a modern audience

I couldn't even finish absorbing all the lore myself because I kept running into absolutely silly shit that made me go "uh...okay?" which is the exact feeling that permeated the entire experience for me

thats all I have to say about it and I refuse to defend or explain myself any further

Loki had sex with a frost giant hoe and made a giant snake to like eat the world or something.
I'm not sure if this is cringetarded or metal.

Yeah, no shit. Scandinavia was a backwater for almost all it's history.
Other Germanics might have had more worthwhile mythology, but most of it was destroyed by the son of Charlemagne, Ludwig the Pious.
Some of it survived into the middle-ages, but it was christianized.
For example the Siegfried myth, the Hildebrand myth, etc.
Our knowledge of Norse mythology is also pretty young, stemming majorly from the 13th century, when the scandinavians were already christian for a while.

Is it any more absurd than some of the things that happen in Israelite mythology? Different languages being explained by humanity building a tower to heaven and God confusing their tongues to stop them, a man being swallowed whole by a whale (an animal that can't swallow something larger than a grapefruit) and surviving, the world being repopulated after a global flood by an ark with two of every animal. It's all just as unbelievable.

But hey, according to some people the Israelites were the only people on Earth who had no mythology - everything they believed was true, apparently...

Of course it's stupid and dumb, all mythology is stupid and dumb, the only exceptions are some Indian stories that are more like fables/children's tales and Greek myths that are basically just adventure/fantasy novels.

The one upside to both Greco-Roman and Norse mythology was that it prioritized being fun, whereas Hebrew mythology was much more concerned with how many cubits a ship was and other stupid shit like that. (Jews were completely inept at storytelling and obsessed with nonsense, which almost makes me believe it's all literally true but I can't get how somebody would sit down and write the Bible and have fifty pages of "begat" but just a passing mention of giants).

Isn't Norse mythology a disjointed collection of folktales only known due to Christian priests going around collecting them? It's not surprising it's weird of weird stuff.

How can Norse mythology be stupid and dumb if you're stupid and dumb

Youtubers can talk about it(or make animations about it), I'm assuming it's not that hard.

Problem with (not only) Norse Mythology is unlike Christianity/judaism. There was not one "canon" version of Mythology written in some book. So what we have today is as others said is collection of folk tales collected by Christian monk. Long after most population converted to Christianity.
