this is a thread for kiwis to talk about their nostalgic memories because the thread about lolcow nostalgia was becoming to powerlevelly

I will start by saying that I feel nostalgic ironically for the two years that were probably my worst two ones from the ages of 14-16 simply because they were very memorable and I know that the events in them came to define me as a person (in a good way)

Staying up until 5am playing video games with my younger step brother during the summer.

Going to the zoo every weekend with my grandfather.

Spending my Halloween working in a haunted house instead of trick or treating (both as a kid and adult).

Visiting my uncle and swimming in his huge ass swimming pool with all his dogs.

Going camping with the girl scouts. Mostly the camping and hiking parts. Fuck the girl scouts.

I remember when Saturday morning cartoons were still a thing that existed.

Honestly, I'm really stretching here, I have very few memories that were that memorable or fun.

Don't we have a thread for "childhood memories"? Isn't this mostly the same thing?

childhood memories included bad or neutral memories whereas this one is about good memories and the concept of nostalgia, the threads may be similar enough to merge though

N64 and pizza.

PlayStation and pizza.

Let's just say I ate a lot of pizza while playing games.

I was 5 or 6 and I remember playing under the Cherry blossoms during the Cherry blossom festival in Washington D.C. I also remember riding the metro and going to the Smithsonian Museum as a small child. I remember in grade school the excitement of summer and being outdoors all day until the sun went down. Visiting my grandmother for thanksgiving in 1991 or when my 20 something cousin would visit us with his big rig truck or the time when I was four and he would spin me around upside down. Going to see Independence Day when it was released and was the first movie I ever saw on opening day. Also my first new bicycle and riding it to the point one summer I had to replace the tires three different times.

My childhood was terrible the only good memories I have were from the media surrounding it
