I take it that's occurred to you in the very immediate past...what did you actually say to provoke being called an incel?

But to be fair, the exchanges I've had with normal users back when I flirted with Reddit were perfectly pleasant. It's most the hyperzealous moderation team that make that site just intolerable because they don't have lives - funnily, we found out during that Reddit blackout that basically everybody actually hates them. I once posted a TIL about the origin of the word 'Nazi' and I found out weeks later it had actually be removed basically the second I posted it.

reddit is just like many other early 00's website survivors: started with a good idea, grew into a centralized mainstay of the Internet, entered terminal enshittification. Same with Wikipedia, Google, Amazon, Twitter, etc. Each of them became THE place for some function, the competitors died off, then they ruined the entire space for what they do.

In reddit's case, they swallowed almost the entire market for forums, especially niche technical forums, by providing it for free and enabling the smaller community to act autonomously. Then they tried to become "the front page of the Internet" and instead became a useless shithole for every community across the platform.

Modern reddit users are worse than modern 4chan users. If you're still using 4chan in 2024, you're a fool who hasn't yet realized your platform was neutered, compromised, shit up, and made irrelevant for almost a decade. If you're using reddit, the same applies but you also think you're super smart, in touch with the Internet's pulse, and talking an important community. Channers are idiots, redditors are smug idiots.
