official nickelodeon griefing thread

Well, marketing sexualized content to children isn't something that should be totally unexpected with consumerist economics (same with marketing cigarettes to children) - and this of course, isn't the only example of it. It's definitely repulsive but it's a thing nonetheless.

There's no reason this should be a thing anymore than having Ron Jeremy on an episode of a children's show.

Lol Nickelodeon died when they bet all their horses on Spongebob and Schneider sitcoms. At this point it's just the rotting corpse smelling extra foul.
These TV stations are years away from going off the air forever and they know it.

The teens of 2030 are going to worse than the tumblr generation.
You assume teens are watching TV. They're not. They are fully internet embraced. To them the idiot box is some boomer invention that aging Gen-X and Millennials have some odd nostalgia for.

I said it in the thread about the Blues Clue's clip (since when is Steve an Asian BTW?) but keep in mind that a majority of kids no longer watch television. So most kids are spared of this kind of propaganda. I would be interested in seeing the metrics for the clip on YT and how many actual kids watched it in full.

Steve is old news. He got replaced by Joe, and this one is a pinoy named Josh Delacruz

korra was fucking tame compared to this. least the bisexual thing was slapped on last moment and not something that was around day one
I didn't care much for her being a dyke since it was literally the last 10 seconds of that shitshow clearly shoehorned right before the release to please Tumblr, since no one else was watching it at that point. The rest of it was much, much more painful, especially because it was made by the same people, who made the original seasons, so it's really hard to pretend that it didn't happen.

And as also stated in the other thread, it's on YouTube, which kids are actually watching without parental supervision. TV is dying and the networks know it, so they're moving onto streaming platforms where all the kids are. Due to lack of regulation like with network television, only thing stopping them from going all-out haram is stuff like COPPA, but I think even the folks behind COPPA don't actually give a shit.

Only hope is that kids really aren't watching this because they're too distracted by algorithm cat videos and glittery slime mixing to watch, and it was all just a way to pander to man/womenchildren. Given the amount of Tweets and articles that worshiped the video for "representation", this may be the case since no kid truly gives a shit about representation.

And kids have a choice when it's on the internet. That was my point...

Again, would love to see exactly how many kids actually watched it in full.

really it started with kora in a snowball effect. One small last minute not even all that obvious detail with that bisexual bit. Then when people responded positively to that it lead to things like Clyde in loud house being raised by two child molesters gay men, and now that they can show their true colors supposedly without fear of judgment (or at least enough to do damage) they give us crap like foot fetish drag queen and Lindsey "all kids are born Queer." Amer as a creative consultant.

Actual question: People raising kids in Nick's target demo are largely millennials, right? How many of these households even have cable at this point? How many kids even know what the fuck a Blue's Clue is? I'm guessing parents are parking their kids in front of Rokus and iPads with YouTube and PBS streaming 24/7. I hope I'm not wrong.

It's one thing to say that "children aren't watching tv, streaming is taking Nickelodeon's audience", but holy shit, they have not even been trying.

They've let Spongebob on way too long, and now that the creators dead, they can further rape the corpse by expanding it into spinoffs (who wants to watch "Kamp Koral" or "The Patrick Star Show"?).

Dan Schneider may gotten worse over time with Henry Danger and Game Shakers (and been a bit of a creep, according to internet detectives), but he is by far the biggest asset Nickelodeon had this millennium. At least people remember his shows and he created one mainstream star (Ariana Grande).

The Loud House is the closest thing they've had to an actual show in the past decade until the creator was MeTooed™.

And now, they've resorted to a midlife crisis where they are trying to bring back everything that made them good in the 90's just to make them even worse as well. "All That", "Are You Afraid of the Dark", "Double Dare", the aforementioned "Blue's Clues" have all been brought back and pretty much flopped.

Now their parent company is making a big push into streaming with Paramount+. They have a lot of ground to cover to catch up with the more popular services and need some content. With Nickelodeon being one of their biggest assets you'd think they commission a bunch of new ideas to fill up their catalogue. But nope, they just continue to pick out whatever IPs that have some semblance of nostalgia for people. "Let's bring back ICarly and Rugrats. What do you mean one of the main ICarly characters quit acting, replace her with some diversity hires. What do you mean people don't like the CG animated rugrats? Just make on of the characters gay. At least the critics will praise us for being "progressive" while our ratings drop".

There's no signs of them stopping either. What does the future hold for Nickelodeon? Another Loud House spinoff! More Spongebob spinoffs! Live-action Fairly-Odd Parents! A Star Trek series! Haven't Star Trek fans suffered enough?

Nickelodeon is indeed a rotting corpse, but sadly it's still Paramount biggest asset. I just await the news when a larger company buys Paramount a uses the Nickelodeon catalogue to waste space on their streaming service.
