back in the day at Innoventions at Epcot there was a booth by Lego that had some 386 dos-ish lego CAD program with like, all the parts.
it was very in-house feeling and afaik never had a commercial release

i used to spend hours playing the Legoland pc game. never passed the section where the parks you made got inspected though, so i kept playing the earlier sections until i dropped the game. it was no rollercoaster tycoon but my little autist brain loved it

Back in my day, we played with actual Legos. Of course, I had Mega Bloks because that's all they had.

“Needs more scenery” still haunts my mind 20 years later.

I enjoyed playing Racers back in the day on the N64, it's not an amazing game, but it was fun.
Rock Raiders was pretty great. A few years ago I tried looking up how to find a copy, just for nostalgia's sake, and I'm pretty sure the game still has a small online community. I think there were some guys working on porting the game so it works alright on modern hardware, or rebuilding the game from scratch. It's been a while, so I don't remember the details, unfortunately.

Legoland was my jam too. Lego Chess was great too, especially since it actually had network multiplayer.

There was also Lego Digital Designer in 2004, which was actual CAD software that could generate manuals from builds. View attachment 4217272
was that the one that had the "feature" of instantly charging that parts list to your credit card and shipping it to you if you clicked a button?
but yeah those were clearly descended from the not-so-user-friendly version I dicked around with in the day

King Kahuna and the skeletons in the Lego Island 2 desert were scary stuff when I was a little pussy kid
OOK AH OOK OOK

Lego Island 2 and Lego Racers were both very good. I tried playing Bricklot but was too retarded to ever make any progress in it.
I liked the shitty Lego Mars RTS webgame (with the aliens and the astronauts).
Rock Raiders was cool but I don't actually remember it much.

It's funny, now that I think about it I had a shit ton of Lego stuff, but I don't remember actually asking for any of it (and as a little kid I basically never asked for presents). I guess my parents must have kept getting it for me because I played with RL Legos a lot. (They thought I would grow up to be an architect.)
