Oldschool Runescape or Runescape 3? - buying gf

Never played the modern runescape, but can recall my brothers and I played the shit out of the 2000s version of it. I remember even watching those noob videos that were popular and RMVs. Also so many good memorable events from this IP like the Falador massacre.

Some of the videos were lost to time but there's still a good handful still up from all the way back in 2006

Runescape failed the very moment they disabled dueling anywhere other than the (at the time new) duel arena. I refuse to pretend otherwise.

Other than the micro-transactions we can all agree are trash, I am going to issue the probably controversial statement that OSRS is a joke compared to RS3. It's just a less complete version of the game, losing years and years of updates. I played Runescape from Classic to RS2 in the mid-to-late 00's, and only returned to play some RS3 in about 2017 after close to 10 years. It took me a while to accept the way combat changed but in the end it's not actually too different with the rotation style. I appreciate OSRS' unique added content... but at the same time that kind of defeats the purpose of 2007scape and some of it just seems to be playing catch-up with RS3 content. Not to mention the OSRS' whole 'vote on content' which is good in concept is swept under the rug when they wanna make a gay pride event, lol.
