I think it's more a case of some YT channels bring on female talent and if they don't gel then they're usually accused of hating women rather than the fact that it just doesn't work for the audience.

Like with anything on the internet, it's a small minority who actually do have a weird problem with women playing videogames and get very ass-blasted about it whereas most people know what they like and if it's a thing they don't like then they'll say. But because its the internet it just turns into a black-and-white-victim narrative and when you see it played out again and again, surprise surprise it's actually harder for women to move into YT gaming because they're just seen as another one of those that would use their gender to tar any criticism as misogyny.

If you look at the slapfights that still going on today about Fiona, Lindsay & Mica joining Achievement Hunter it's a pretty poisoned well already which is such a damn shame when you got so many funny women waiting in the wings but no shut up and like this one or be branded a woman-hater.

I genuinely liked Lindsay when she started out, and didn’t particularly mind Mica either.

Fiona was, and still 100% is, a black hole of comedy and banter, hiding behind a shield of “you’re just sexist, she’s great”. She brings literally nothing to the channel and actively makes videos worse.

As for Oney, it feels like we’re in the beginning of a pretty great era for the channel, Worms and Gang Beasts have been great.

Oney and crew tend to know how to avoid GG Susie syndrome. Hell one of the best Sleepycast episodes was the one with Sabtastic on it.

I tried to look for a clip but couldn't find anything, but if this is supposedly the case I'm glad that it wasn't due to bad blood and they're still following each other on twitter
 
Didn't see anyone bring it up, but that Game Grumps video of Suzy playing Lion King? thumbnail legit says "MY WIFE IS AMAZING AT THIS GAME" first thing they do in that video is turn on an invulnerability cheat code.

I didn't mind Mica, but she really rubbed me the wrong way when she started whining about hardships when she is the daughter of a celebrity and got what was considered by many at the time, a dream job, based on the fact that she was the daughter of celebrity. A job which she got bored of and left to hang out with other internet famous people. If she wasn't the daughter of Levar Burton she would just be another fan wishing she could work there.

I never liked Lindsay and skipped a lot of the videos she was in. I ended up losing interest in AH and RT before Fiona joined so I don't know much about her.

This isn't a question directly to you, but on the topic you two are talking about. What exactly dictates who does or doesn't get hired by AH? Like, Andy I understand, he was a friend of Michaels. Jeremy and Matt were long time fans and community contributors.

but Alfredo and Fiona? They were both youtubers with legit under 10k subs. I'm pretty damn certain Fiona was under 5k. How did they get hired? That's the part that's always confused me. It legit seems like they just spin a wheel of obscure minority youtubers and just hire whatever the wheel lands on.

RoosterTeeth (And I guess Achievement Hunter) has gone down in quality quite a lot, like suddenly new podcast, new shitty show, etc. Should get a thread at some point.

But, on topic, Oney is a far more interesting LPer then GG, from what bits and pieces I watched, it's far nicer to hear more then just the same two people talking in circles.

if you didn't like someone anymore and you broke up with them, would you accept things they made remaining in your home and not thrown into a volcano somewhere

i'd bury that shit under concrete and get dogs and the homeless to piss on it so i imagine it's fine.
