From what Dingdong has said Julian is still doing fine. The last I remember of him outside of Bippy was Julian doing Pumpkin carving for Halloween that I believe was supposed to be streamed around the same time as Ding Dong's 3DMM Festival.

With Bippy, Julian has just been refining the art while Dingdong still posts updates in tweets about things he's adjusted for programing. They're supposedly getting a beta build out very soon so people will be able to try it (assuming it's for patrons first for feedback).
That's really good. I hope that the game takes off, it seems neat, and with Ding Dong's knowledge of game design I expect it to be really fun to play.

Same here. Personally, though, I'm extremely wary since they shelved a game that was 90% done (anyone else remember Trigger Treat?) to start a new project. Hopefully they do release both eventually.

Trigger treat got shelved because people started overhyping it believing it to be more than what it was (people kept seeing it more like binding of Isaac when it was more of a top down shooter thing rather than roguelike) and dingdong got weary about people attaching it to oneyplays due to DD&J close ties to OP at that time.

Alright, by this point I'm pretty well-convinced that Tomar browses the farms. He starts talking about the recent MovieBlob fiasco about 4 minutes in. Not that you have to be a Kiwi to know about it, but I feel like it would take a Kiwi to bring it up in casual conversation.

He's mentioned Kiwi Farms by name before but I couldnt tell you which series it was for the life of me. Tomar specifically gave a shout-out tho, and he has definitely displayed lolcow adjacent knowledge.

I wouldn't be of their whole group knew about/used the site or at least had an at worst neutral stance on it. In a ding dong stream from a while ago he seemed paranoid that he's the kind of person KF would start a thread on, which is ironic since the most negative thing I've seen about him written here is being upset that he left the show

From earlier this year.
Tomar has explicitly mentioned the Farms at least once, although I don't remember which episode it was.
Edit: My faulty memory is no match for my OneyPlays autism.

They’ve talked about Brianna Wu, Andrew Dobson, CWC, MovieBob, ect. I’m sure they’re very much aware.

I believe it's in their... 'Devotion' series. The cancelled Taiwanese horror game. He references that the Farms curates content about international cows, which I don't think is really something one would consider to be passing knowledge of the site. I'd say that even if they aren't on the farms, they're the sorts of folks who would enjoy most of the content here.

Ding Dong's probably into a lot of weird shit, and he seems to have big emotional swings -- he might think that's enough to qualify, and if you're not really familiar with how folks around here operate, I could see that fear. But the reality is that he seems generally put-together and personable, and wise enough to keep his more private shit mostly private; the bizarre quirks of character he probably sweats aren't really the deal he imagines, I'd think. But I recall him also being virulently afraid of ever critiquing a game while on Oneyplays -- he might worry a little overmuch.

I'm glad the boys are doing okay, especially Ding Ding. Has anyone heard of Julian?

It was posted a while back, but Julian made a comic on his blog on why he left Oneyplays(and never wants to come back). Among other things, he thought at first it would be a one-and-done deal for some quality time with his gay lover(Dingdong, yes, they are an actual item, those weren't jokes). He didn't like himself being degraded into a caricature by oneyplays memes and was uncomfortable with the idea of kids seeing the videos he was in, including his younger brother. The final nail in the coffin is that was as much time as he spent on the channel, he wasn't able to spend a lot of time on drawing, his one true passion. Though it also helps that he also really hates being in the spotlight, like at all, being part of a popular youtube channel was way to much for him to personally handle.

final nail in the coffin was when he got word of there being Oney plushies made in his likeness and he began having nightmares of garbage dumps filled with dolls of him.

he felt like being on oneyplays was turning him into a mascot/character instead of a person.

Gotta be honest, I always feel bad for people like this. Some people just aren't built for constant attention. I'm reminded of Neil Peart, who wrote Limelight specifically because he was uncomfortable of being in the spotlight and yet he still continued touring with Rush despite that sheer discomfort.

Maybe it's because I'm pretty introverted myself, but I completely understand why some people don't want themselves out there like that.

That's actually kind of horrifying. No wonder he decided to jump ship after that.

I think the final nail for both of them was that they were moving out of LA and recording wasn't going to be possible anymore. I do believe they didn't wanna do oney plays anymore but its definitely more on the JonTron end of "pursuing other things" than any disdain for chris, especially since ding dong recently reappeared for a few episodes and seemed to have a lot of fun.

Frankly, ding dong strikes me as a bit paranoid, which is normal on the internet these days. He strikes me as a bit self-conscious, but I'm sure he's a swell enough guy to be around if his more "real" moments with oney, Julian and company are anything to go by.

pretty sure the creation of the dolls and everything was not to Chris personally. for example awhile back DD and Julian talked about how they straight up weren't paid for a lot of episodes they recorded and people pointed fingers at Chris only for Chris to say he isn't in charge of paying them. It's the people above him that do it and he literally has no say or control over it. I thought creation of the merchandise was the same.

Damn I was foolish enough to think that everything about Oneyplays was self produced. Guess you really just can't be solo on the internet anymore without having some kind of network behind you. Who controls Oneyplays anyways?

i'm not an Oneyplays expert. I could straight up be wrong. But for awhile, if I'm not mistaken, they operated out of the same "studio" that GameGrumps did, during this period whoever was in charge of GG was also incharge of OneyPlays.

If I'm wrong, someone is free to correct me, but that's the impression I was under.

damn, i was under the impression julian and dingdong would just peacefully jack off to hyper muscle furries and tuba vore until the end of time, i wasn't aware they were still working on Bippy. good for them

I'm quite sure that they're talking about the time Adpocalypse rolled around, so they're talking about YouTube, who controls their revenue.

Has anyone archived that comic? I'm interested in seeing it out of sheer curiosity. Either way I can understand how he feels, and I think there's way too many reasons to leave OneyPlays for Julian, including him not thinking he's funny enough for the show, which seemed to come up more often near the end of his time there, and how caustic they were over N.Sane Trilogy.

Eh, with them it has grown on me that nowadays everyone has some off-color fetish in them. Even when Ding Dong allegedly asked for that tuba art he was very respectful, so I'd still hang around him and I hope he makes a lotta dolla.

Yeah it was during the GG studio era of Oneyplays when I think Chris was an employee of the GG company so that he could stay in America as he would have had to leave if he was doing it solo or something along those lines, so he wouldn't have been directly involved in paying DD&J at that point.

So does that mean Bowlbo is the only thing keeping him in America right now? Or should he get hitched to Veronica to seal the deal
