A hospital isn't going to let him do firesales and smoke 'ports while he undergoes treatment. A hospital stay of any length at all will not be fun and I imagine Brian knows, even if just by instinct, that that's the case. He'll have to put the hype on pause and he just wants to delay that as long as possible. Not to mention withdrawing from cigarettes might be actual hell, makes me wonder how hospitals deal with that when they have to basically immobilize a smoker in bed for a good while.

He will be in the ER for about 12 hours, after which he will be admitted for no less than 3 days, after which they will try to ship him off to some hoof clinic and I have no idea how long that will be.
