Excessive alcohol consumption prevents vitamin B absorption, and this leads to wounds in extremities not healing. Nigger could cure himself with $5 of vitamin pills.

I've spent an ungodly amount of time working as a field engineer. I have two coworkers with diabetes. The one guy, eats as healthy as he can on the road and exercises with me whenever we get a chance. That guy monitors his glucose and relatively rarely had to use insulin.
The other guy eats fast food slop, never exercises, and has to use insulin constantly. You can literally smell him when his glucose gets out of wack.
Blade could make his life a lot easier. But there is a lot of shit that blade could do to improve his lotz, that he will never do.

It wont help his foot. His body cannot heal properly because it's saturated with glucose. It's way past the time for a diet to help. He needs insulin and dieting at this point but it's still not going to save his leg.

It really wasn't until I started being around him more on jobs that I realized blood sugar levels can change people's behavior and personality. Like when blade gets lit, his personality completely changes, with a lot of it due to booze, but the same thing happens with my coworker and he is Mormon. He has never touched alcohol. When his glucose levels goes nuts, he turns into a complete asshole. And of course if he nicks his skin wiring something, it's easily like a month before it heals up. His sleep schedule is a wreck. His weight will wildly fluctuate. It's got to be exhausting.
But just like Blade it's "fuck it. I don't want to deal with it" attitude so everyone else has to.

I had a friend like that, he just had the really shitty brittle kind of diabetes where even perfect behavior and adherence to treatment didn't stop him from crashing out. Since he was ordinarily a really mellow dude everyone knew to get him help when he acted like an asshole because it was a short step from there to a coma.

Yes diabetes runs in my wife's family. Even with diet and exercise and being in reasonably good shape for someone with 2 kids, she still is prediabetic in bloodwork and I noticed also the same thing. They are total cunts when the blood sugar is spiked.
As far blade tho, he has always been a stuck up piece of garbage with a spoon up his ass even before his diabetes

For the record this is only true with T2D where body cells are resistant to insulin, requiring either more insulin or a more healthy lifestyle, as opposed to people with T1D which is the absence of insulin production, who are the people that actually need regular insulin intake. Brine has T2D.
