Because they must have lost a business partner or might have called a lawyer in the meantime. Why did Canonical even bother firing Bicha at this point? It just makes them look even worse imo. They kept him around, defended the hiring when called out, and then fired him?
It doesn't matter whether your prison system is punitative or corrective or eye-for-an-eye revenge based. This particular dude has done shit so heinous that no matter when he did it, he should be under intense supervision forever. I mean frankly I don't think he should be allowed to breathe, that shit should be illegal too, but that's not the world we're living in.
I'm (mostly) inclined to agree with you but you should remember the cautionary tale of PolyMC. The lead programmer allowed contributions from anyone, including the lefty types. Once he attempted to edit the CoC(k) they added, he got such pushback from them to the point where he just decided to remove them from the repository. Instantly they found and abused any and all surfaces of attack they could find (third-party packages, servers, etc.) and sent out a message that he "had gone rogue" which was parroted by many influencers. After they sabotaged PolyMC they then proceeded to fork it. The new launcher is sponsored by various companies, while the original was left to die. Plus, they keep shoving tranny cocks down the throats of the users of "their" launcher. If the offered code can meet that above criteria which makes it useful on the whole, I will accept it, regardless of how much of a sperg the author is.
Because they must have lost a business partner or might have called a lawyer in the meantime This is very likely the case, since the firirng will likely also cause a lot of issues internally when all the trannies get upset.

It's for the law and the git repo maintainers to decide if he did anything wrong, not your sorry ass.Recently it came out that someone was actually taking OSS projects and then laundering them to change the license whenever they had a licensing problem: https://lnkd.in/gfwXrk8vLimiting exposure to bad behaviour like this is where tools like Stacklok's Trusty can really shine, because tools like Trusty exist to help gauge the risk of malicious maintainers in your dependencies, and somebody taking copyleft components and laundering them into MIT-licensed ones is clearly a malicious maintainer.
Division of purpose. If you're going to point and laugh, do so here. If you're planning to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT then resign the thread and go do the shit.I'm conflicted on this.
Typically, Lunduke says that he reached out and didn't get a response yet - it's a standard sentence when he reports about anything. It was also interesting to note that this was just 24 hours after the jew made the video where he posted Canonical's first ill-advised email.
It'll probably seem naively charitable but there is also the possibility that when Mark Shuttleworth found out what kind of creature he had working for him, he wanted that thing out. I know the popular conception is that all rich people are part of some Podesta-Epstein sex cabal but I'm fairly sure at least some are decent human beings. Though the company should have known this and probably someone did, the general knowledge at the upper levels of who their code contributors are is probably sparse. And Bicha is basically a glorified package maintainer, isn't he? The awareness of any at the top would at most be "yeah, we hired someone with a spent sexual assault conviction". Again, I'm not saying nobody knew and I'm certainly not saying they shouldn't have known. But in addition to reasons (a) "we're getting bad press" and (b) "one of our customers threatened to drop us", there's also (c) "I just read that girl's testimony and I feel sick..."It was also interesting to note that this was just 24 hours after the jew made the video where he posted Canonical's first ill-advised email.
(we knew he was a convicted sexual predator but we hired him anyway).
Companies rarely act this fast because buerocracy moves very slowly even when everyone is in agreement.
That this happened this quickly and Mark was personally CCed on the email to Lunduke,
that tells me shit hit the fan big time. Very likely big important customers called Mark personally and asked him what the hell is going on.
Possibly also in part due to the first ill-advised email. I really doubt that legal counsel had approved on communication where they admit they knew they hired a sexual predator and possibly they blew a fuse when they saw it on Ludunkes channel.
We have a whole bunch of professionals with legal background here on the farms.
Say you, active or retired, legal counsels, would you have approved that first official email they sent to Lunduke ?
If anyone ever felt they had been treated inappropriately by this faggot when he was out representing Canonical in an official capacity, this is absolutely the kind of email you want your lawyer to get his hands on.
I looked earlier. None of the conference videos are on their YouTube channel and I don't know where else they would be.So did they post his shitty little video or are they still skittish?
It must irk him that he couldn't vote against Orange Man in good old Florida. He really wants his voting rights back.
"Wait until you hear how many children have been sent to prison"Hmm...
They could wait until the con is over, we just don't know. It probably will be as boring as watching paint dry but at least it will be the last known footage of Bicha. So did they post his shitty little video or are they still skittish?

It should show up in here eventually (assuming they don't just withhold it forever): https://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2025/DebConf25/I looked earlier. None of the conference videos are on their YouTube channel and I don't know where else they would be.
That was a hilarious read. Shuttleworth rejects the dude for seeming "passive aggressive". Dude writes long online public post about Canonical's hiring practices implying the fault is with Shuttleworth, and listing other interviewers who disagree with Shuttleworth. Also admits to lying on his application about his academic record in the first few paragraphs of the article and ends it all with "I have Asperger's."Typically, Lunduke says that he reached out and didn't get a response yet - it's a standard sentence when he reports about anything.
Bicha did his wiki sperg-out five days before Lunduke reported, so if we assume that Lunduke was a good guy, he gave Canonical five days to respond before dropping the bomb. There was a weekend, so three work days.
I am daring, and assume that Lunduke didn't do that, but rather sent a request to Canonical simultaniously with recording his piece.
But Canonicals hiring practices are insane and Mark Shuttleworth himself interviews, digs into their past and approves of new employees.
If you read this, you won't be surprised that Mark is CCed here. It is his personal reputation at stake. It's not just about the company anymore, since he is known to be super aggressviely digging into the past of his employees.

Conference videos sometimes take a while to get uploaded to their channels, especially if the conference is minor.I looked earlier. None of the conference videos are on their YouTube channel and I don't know where else they would be.
Don't use that word around Jeremy Bicha, please.especially if the conference is minor.
What is the forum policy on Zoosadism / reporting actual crimes?I'm conflicted on this. On one hand, no gayops and no pozloading my neghole. On the other hand, I absolutely guarantee that Bicha and at least half the staff at this event have done this exact thing to people they disagree with on gay idpol shit and as such they, if anyone, deserve it.
Could have posted this shit show he's an degen.Wayland manager and yet it was created and is spearheaded by a Polack who loves his elf hentai a bit too much.
Sorry but, even though it causes me immense pain, I have to agree with kaniini. The project was licensed with LGPL-2.0 and they changed it to MIT, which LGPL doesn't allow. The project owner, mdmintz, repeatedly states that this is allowed, at one time claiming that it's because Github didn't show any license in the righthand section of its front page, on which he gets corrected, as that's just a convenience feature that won't work if the project doesn't follow the method Github uses to determine the license, but puts the license in some weird nonstandard location. Obviously Github's convenience feature isn't a legally binding license declaration, and the owner is trying to claim that he is.Ok but seriously, I was looking more into these retards and found out that conill (Chris Chan's long lost xister) actually went after another dev for doing the unthinkable, using a different license from the one he was meant to use.
It's for the law and the git repo maintainers to decide if he did anything wrong, not your sorry ass.
He put up a statement afterwards BTW
imagine working hard to bring a project from the dead and this is the kind of response you get, TOSS people are the reason why commercial closed-source software will always be better except that they aren't free most of the time, but w/e you get what you pay for.
Fucking Hell. This is very spicy by Phoronix standards.https://www.phoronix.com/forums/for...5-kicks-off-on-france-video-streams-available (archive)
Little bit of action over at Phoronix, not dozens of comments though.

There are plenty of comment sections that go down this road. I see pod people calling it toxic (on Phoronix). There will be pressure to sweep up more, like that entirely nuked Asahi Hector Marcina comment section. But I also observed a lot of pro-Wayland, anti-XLibre sentiment recently: https://www.phoronix.com/forums/for...0024-wayback-is-now-hosted-on-freedesktop-orgFucking Hell.
