I'm not saying LLM for coding is bad,
When you understand how temperature turns LLM work into a slot machine... I marvel at how weird AI turned out to be in the end. But like you explain, where you don't specify, the LLM will make what is effectively a random choice of outcome, and what would be "design decisions" get wildly garbled.

I don't know, the crud that collects in old/big codebases is different than AI incoherence. I know this is a piss poor explanation but I'm not sure how to put it in words. Maybe somebody knows what I mean.
Yes, I think I do. When you're on an archeology expedition through five years of commits trying to figure out the for what purpose behind something that reads as overly opinionated, specific or just weird, there's an origin point that hints at the force behind it. Some other system it interfaces with requires the communication handled a certain way that makes it annoying or tedious to use in your use case, so the solution is to wrap it this way and that, resulting in the code uniquely solving the immediate issue at hand. And then it grows from there as it's used and iterated on and improved slightly without breaking the abstraction that's the impetus for it in the first place. It's organic where the evolution of the code happens for the programmer and transitively for the end user.

LLM-generated code is random stabs at the problem at hand and ends up as the inverse, with any evolution being the programmer working for the code. He doesn't write it, he doesn't use it, he doesn't have to deal with the intricacies of it, and most importantly he didn't spend the time to understand its after- and concurrent effects, so it grows inorganically with more and more dumped on top and jammed in the middle with no concern about maintainability, readability or overall coherence. It's inside-out cowboy coding because there is no one at the top with a grand understanding of how it works or for what purpose or reason.

Could the fast inverse square root have been spit out by an LLM? Maybe. But only John Carmack could have put real understanding and driving force behind it that made Quake the unique property that it is.

C:
float Q_rsqrt( float number )
{
    long i;
    float x2, y;
    const float threehalfs = 1.5F;

    x2 = number * 0.5F;
    y  = number;
    i  = * ( long * ) &y;                       // evil floating point bit level hacking
    i  = 0x5f3759df - ( i >> 1 );               // what the fuck?
    y  = * ( float * ) &i;
    y  = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) );   // 1st iteration
//    y  = y * ( threehalfs - ( x2 * y * y ) );   // 2nd iteration, this can be removed

    return y;
}

You have to enjoy coding and see it as an act of art to understand why AI is demonic. Years worth of tacked on fixes and accumulated strangeness still have soul in them, while AI shlock is purely sterile and utilitarian regardless of its function or how much instruction you may give it. It is simply impossible to inject soul into AI derived work. Whether that means something or not is up to the individual of course, and clearly mr FAGMAN doesn't give a rat's ass about soul or quality as long as PRODUCT ends up on shelves.

bro is talking about "soul" in the pragmatics of getting the right bits to flip to get a problem solved, for all the complaints about AI, this one always seemed the gayest and lamest. I don't think that much of the code in the Linux Kernel or my web browser has "soul", it was put there to get a job done likely by some dude doing the work to feed his family.

The issue with AI is that it not only fails to get the job done, it makes future failures to get the job done more likely by making lazy developers ignorant of their own code base while also atrophying their skills.

Soul can take many shapes, what I specifically mean is that I value software written with passion more so than software written for a paycheck. Of course I want my shit to work, but if it just so happens that I can have shit that both works and is written by people who actually enjoyed writing it, that is a big +. A lot of smaller hobby projects just have this air of kino about them that I can't really put into words, even if they are just toys or really janky, like the peeps at wayland.fyi that make these super small toy compositors for the fun of it, that's the kind of thing I want to see more instead of "CLAUDE WIPE MY ASS AND MAKE NO MISTAKES SAAAR".

The issue with AI is that it not only fails to get the job done, it makes future failures to get the job done more likely by making lazy developers ignorant of their own code base while also atrophying their skills.
You are correct. Cognitive tax is the most dangerous part of AI, offloading that much thought whether menial or otherwise literally retards you.

Was Rust one of the first forerunners of having a code of conduct that was made to be as queer-affirming (and queer controlled) as possible? Cause considering it was noteworthy even back then, I'm pretty sure it was indeed the first to do such a thing, and would explain all of the code of con-cuck bullshit we got now.

Its based on the Contributor Covenant, which is the actual starting point for all modern CoCs, as authored by the disgusting tranny freak Corey Dale Ehmke. Shabbos goyim like Drew "Lolicon/Pedophile" DeVault, alongside corporate projects associated with freedesktop.org and Red Hat are largely to blame for their spread, but if you have a finger that needs pointing, Ehmke is the one to blame for at least the current incarnation of the common CoC.

Crossposting for funsies
For the purposes of my current sperging the greater topic is entirely a red herring, I'll just answer in brief to be courteous: it isn't about catching every AI contribution without fault, its about setting a precedent that people who like to rely on the bot beyond their own skill / intuition in hand-crafting packages are unwelcome as contributors, i.e. the same way Gentoo or NetBSD do it. I won't comment more on that since it will derail the bigger point: FAGGOTS IN FREE SOFTWARE.

Like look at this shit, read these two mailing list posts and tell me I'm wrong. For context, the three players here are indieterminacy, the guy writing these emails, Gabber / Gabriel, the faggot that shit up the discussion ~2 weeks ago, and Greg Hogan, a disgruntled maintainer that criticized Gabriel's faggotry calling it "pulling a gabber". This resulted in a bunch of feminine wannabe men jumping on his ass and accusing him of 'targeted harassment' and 'violating the Code of Conduct', the most annoying of which is this:

What a mess.
Even worse, he now lives in Portland Oregon.

🚨 🚨 MASSIVE SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK
KEYV and hundreds of other services compromised.

NPM Fucked up yet again
Archive

What's funny is that the payload downloads the BUN binary if nodejs isn't detected lmao.

The compromise was carried out by pushing malicious files directly to the main branch and then immediately cutting a new release, meaning the poisoned versions were published to npm with valid provenance signed by GitHub Actions.
Do javascript niggers really just pull updates automatically without even being asked to accept the update? That's just begging to be raped in the ass without lube.

Yes, they do. And not just the java faggots. Lots of people do that these days. Even the rust trannies do so.

It is 2026, retard devs are common and think "I will will just automatically download software from untrusted sites and deploy on my production sites" is normal practise.

When did this become normal?
I still remember when "I want to use a third party library" was a several month long process to get audits and permissions and ypou would still be locked to an exact version (that was audited) and which had to be hosted on a private internal SVN.

It was a pain in the butt but "supply chain attacks" was a non-vector.

I blame the lazy trannies for this.

Linus actually got bullied in school due to his dad being a commie and trying to get his son to join the commie youth sport league, which he cites as the reason he is not too into politics. Funny thing is that Nils (the dad) later joined up with RKP, The swedish national party, (serving as the chairman in the EU parlament for the party) which is known to be the most economically right wing/libertarian party which is a oddly common occurrence with the fenno-swedes. Reminds me of parallels with Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas

According to the top minds of OSNews,

Hyperion’s de facto leader, de Groote, is a far right politician. I’d rather not fund fascism. It’s a genuine tragedy that they’ve somehow ended up with the stewardship of the Amiga operating system.

Holy shit I love the Amiga now. Cry moar faggots
