The npm tard's little "activism" got him fired from his high-paying job at PennyAI and he appears to have been unable to hold down any job for more than a few months since then. The xz attack was a by a state actor and was only uncovered because the source was open. Similar issues are known to be lurking in proprietary software, but they're much harder to audit independently and only turn up when the corpo developer admits to them.
One of my friends who knows this freak just sent me this, completely unpromted, that they got from Doxbin. I cannot confirm the provenance of any of this information, but they allegedly keep paying to have the doxbins taken down whenever they pop up. They also, allegedly, own and operate the following account:

Alright, so back on the subject of stupid cheap hardware for dumb little project boxes to run software on your home network - apparently there's an even cheaper option than Thin Clients for the amount of RAM and CPU you get, and that's digital signage boxes. For some reason the corpos that make these things have a habit of putting full fat laptop CPUs in the stupid damned things for a while, and nowadays under $100 can get you a Seneca box with an 11th-gen mobile i3 if you keep your eyes open. Don't get me wrong, they don't seem to come with full-sized PCI-e slots like a lot of your higher-end thin clients (e.g. the HP T740) do, but that's a good bit more CPU than even the best thin clients...

Fascinating what appears when one of these people ends up sticking out their head.
Trying to go down the path of links provided in the dox leads to a lot of broken links and deleted accounts but there does seem to be a connection with "Fawn"'s Github account ("57") and the "vmfunc" Github account through the SubstanceSearch organization. "Fawn" has made a lot of contributions to the main repository there while "vmfunc" is what I assume to be the owner of the organization.
I looked in the very beginning of "vmfunc"s activity on Github and found a repository for a now defunct website by the name of loliga.ng (WTF!!). Outside of the name there is nothing noteworthy in the repository, however looking at the commits made by "vmfunc" reveal references to their older aliases as well as the name found in the dox (examples: 1, 2).
They have likely done a lot of obfuscation to their identity but there is still a connection. Dox seems to be pretty legit.
As usual, internet "security experts" can't help but fucking fail basic nigger opsec.
There's also a fake doxbin he allegedly created to throw others off his trail and to slander someone he doesn't like. This of course fails to line up with all the other information this vantablack nigger has overshared about himself.
Sorry for the double post, but one last update - John-Billy apparently pulled a crypto rugpull last year to fully black out the tech degenerate bingo card
I believe I posted his original video here about it also. In that he basically encouraged making the joke prs.
And I do think some of the fallout is actually his fault. A lot of Linux and open source people hear about things when he talks about the.
Oh holy shit lmao. So you can automatically get banned from mass reporting on github.
I imagine after attention has been brought to that now. Its going to get changed pretty soon. Because I think people knowing that is going to really fuck some shit up for people.
I'm double posting. But eh it'll be fine. I wanted to have this as a separate one for a reason.
Brodie Robertson made another video a-logging his own personal lolcow.
The guy he is talking about is actually a lolcow if you haven't seen him before he bans whole countries because of some perceived slight that someone in that country has done to them. He deserves a thread if he doesn't have one actually.
Besides showing that the guy exists. I wanted to post this here. Because I've gotten some slight impression over time that Brodie has Google search reports set up. And if that is the case. You realize what you are doing in this video is the exact same thing we do here right? The only difference is we say nigger, tranny and faggot here. But the sites purpose isn't to track people down, and ruin their lives. Its to make fun of them.
The purpose is documenting lolcows. Just because biased articles written by people that want the site taken down no matter what, said it's a tranny murder site doesn't mean that's actually what this place is for. Although after drop kiwifarms. I think everyone here unanimously hates trans people. Because they tried censoring an US-legal website, in a way that threatened the entire free internet. because it said things on site that hurt their feelings.
And if I'm wrong and he doesn't get Google alerts. Well the guy he's talking about is a lolcow. I definitely recommend looking into him if you don't know who he is. There's some entertaining stuff there.
This and "ethical hacker" are the most niggerlicious terms on the face of the Earth, exclusively used by safety trannies or soy golems. Even if they're good at what they do, anyone unironically using the term "ethical hacker " is a flaccid eunuch whose brain has been scrunched in a narrow binder by the CIA, castrated and impotent. You cannot convince me that these kinds of terms weren't coined to humiliate the whole field of cybersecurity. Obligatory:
This is you, mister "security expert". This is the path you chose.
I am also skeptical that any good fruit will come of this LibrePhone initiative but I wish them the best. The proprietary nature of my phone really irks me. PinePhone just wasn't it.
If they get the ball rolling even a little bit toward reverse engineering baseband modem drivers, the most gay, retarded and proprietary part of any smartphone, it's a worthy endeavor.
I don't even have one and I know that's not true. It's done by being able to choose a keyboard in the 16 inch (with, without numpad, I think they had a iso prototype as well?). Or an MXM slot (when was the last time you saw one of those?). Or by being able to easily replace a fucking screen. Or by having easily accessible m.2 ports. Or a replaceable battery. Or fuck, a replaceable motherboard because yes, the CPU is not replaceable but they still make the thing where you can buy just the Mobo with the CPU soldered on, and you can upgrade THAT.
Yes, but I meant from the everyday use perspective. Yes, it is neat that you can choose a keyboard, its neat that you can have an MXM slot. But you don't swap your keyboard or your display every day. For the price of that laptop i can take and configure any high end laptop. And all the rest of the stuff you mentioned has been default for business class laptops. Even the shittiest corporate HP's are designed so that a CompTIA+ helpdesk drone can replace a faulty hard disk or other FRU (field replaceable unit). Some laptops have tool-less access to the disks and ram, some have a few screws but unless you are buying computers in Walmart, this is a basic feature.
On the other hand, if someone makes me a laptop that has native support for a fully open source boot process, 4h battery life and doesnt look like I 3d-printed it I would trade both of my kidneys for it.
This one is about the AI feature in OneDrive from Microsoft. They only let you disable it 3 times a year. It scans all images uploaded to one drive with facial recognition software. And you can't just turn it on and off as many times as you please.
The issue being, that a lot of the time on Microsoft updates. They just completely reset your settings. So you could hit your limit of turning it off easily within a year. And get stuck with it on. Because of windows updates.
Which is obviously pretty fucked.
Also along with that. They are often setting things to be stored on the cloud (OneDrive) by default now. Rather than being local. So you don't have your own data on your own device. And that is what they are trying to have you get used to. And they are by default running all of that data through AI facial recognition ( At the very least).
until ranjesh pushes a vibecoded update that fucks up a node.js-based critical system component and bricks your computer
it is also absolutely never going to get any better, so anybody who isn't thinking of possible escape routes now is eventually going to be stuck with a choice between a glorified mobile phone operating system and a variety of operating systems that nobody will support because microjeet has deprecated them
