I can kind of see how this would happen on accident if you just put everything through an AI and had it look for "inappropriate content" totally devoid of context. A lot of wild shit happens in the bible and if you're one of those retards that thinks the mere mention of something is "glorification" then this "makes sense" for a certain value of sense.

I've been seeing a lot of anti Christian and anti Muslim shit on the internet lately
I've been seeing fedora tippers for years, but all the shit about Al'Zut, and Muhamad getting gang raped by jeets seemed pretty out of character
And now this?

This looks like a big coordinated campaign to me, I wonder who is behind it

you should not be using the silicon demon sigils to read the Bible ngl
Wrong.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

F-droid has flagged religious apps as being NSFW, thus being hidden by "dangerous features" filter.

Change has been reverted pending policy clarification. The app to watch is AndBible, which contains near zero religious material in its packaging to enable them to bypass exactly this kind of censorship. Also worth noting that none of the three Bhagavad Gita apps have been filtered at all, despite them, you know, justifying caste, labeling women lower caste, et cetera. It would be disappointing if it wasn't so transparently retarded.

Post in thread 'Gamers Nexus' https://kiwifarms.net/threads/gamers-nexus.221871/post-22801153

This seems pretty relevant here. Especially with the discussion a few pages back about cloud services.

Here's a based objective take on OSS controversies lately.

That's a great video. This kind of goes with what I've been saying (on other parts of the forum).

That the whole woke, DEI politics thing, is doing exactly what it's supposed to. That is. Its not about equality. Its to promote the idea of a class struggle to modern America. Because the normal methods of doing that didn't work here to cause unrest needed for a communist revolution.

You can go back and look at the history of where all of these ideas that you here the useful idiots parroting came from. They were introduced into the American education system by Marxists back around the 60s. They used intersectional politics, and critical race theory to promote Marxism as the answer to the struggles of marginalized people. Basically co-opting, and eventually using those movements.

That's why you see all of these opposing world views. That contradict each other being promoted by these people. Its not about the actual surface level problem. It doesn't matter that Muslims in reality if they got what they wanted, would kill all the lgbtq freaks. It doesn't matter that in the hood black people will call a faggot, a faggot, and are as misogynistic as it gets. Those are just the tools they use to promote socialism as the answer.

These people don't care about free software. They are doing the same thing with this movement, they do with any other. They co-opt it. To promote the class struggle (or in their case just ambiguous struggle of anything they feel like pointing at). Their purpose is to divide. And letting them get their way only hurts the movement.

I should add. This stuff is why I don't like when the right plays into the same things. Its just continuing this same wrong way of thinking. That doesn't mean ignore them. It doesn't mean just let them control everything, and ruin projects. At least in the open software world.

Thankfully it's a lot rarer to see people on the right, in open source doing it.

i hate culture warriors and politispergs so fucking much that i want to lock them all in a big arena with guns and wait for them to sort themselves out while watching it on an absolutely gigantic 72" gigascreen

"oh i don't accept fascists in my repository" "we are heccin based here" no nigger you are writing a program that draws rectangles on my screen. shut the fuck up and take your sperging to a personal blog i never have to read

I think Rust would be a lot less hated if they didn't want to replace everything or force people to use it. Also what it makes unpleasant is the unorganic way it is adopted and shoved as a dependency.

To me, if Rust programs are capable to work on MS-DOS, at least in protected mode, then it is fine. But you see, they want to replace the good old reliable GNU utilities in Linux because of C.

It's good that at least it is reverted. But this event proves to me how much they care about free speech and freedom. You needed to make a ruckus on the Internet to make them reconsider this.

Like @prollyanotherlurker said, both sides do it, but the right is the under-dog currently and they are more affected by the censorship. The Left needs to get a taste of their methods, so that everyone is aware that these tactics are awful.

my main problems with rust are cargo and the single compiler implementation and how new (and consequently janky) it is
even as a dedicated rust hater i am sure it will mature at least as well as c++ one day (that is, not very well, but with only rare problems)

I believe I saw this on Starz.... Spartacus: Tards of the Arena. Good show. Would recommend.

The problem is. Even if they do, and they probably will to some extent. People just forget.

The right, or at least, the old conservatives, used to be the ones that were censoring people. The left was all for free speech. Then as time passed, as people that grew up, being indoctrinated, or getting indoctrinated at some point with leftist ideals came into power. Forgot that the left used to care about freedom, open mindedness, free expression. Some might not have even been alive to know that. And people on the "right" that really cared about that, were more like libertarian, centrists, etc. The right has only really cared because over the last 10 or so years, since it's been the main target being censored.

The problem is if as the right gains more traction again. If people don't stand up, and say even though these people deserve to experience what they did to their opponents. In the long term it's just going to keep perpetuating the same cycle. The left will get censored. In the beginning probably out of spite. Then it will become normal. Then eventually the left will get into a position where it starts to look more reasonable to be on their side again. Then it will start all over.

But I've also noticed, it seems like a sadly large amount of people on the right are less, anti-censorship. Instead they just don't like it when THEY get censored. The right has barely even started gaining ground, and I've already seen people forget what people have been complaining about for the last 10 years (and I've also seen that some of the loudest voices advocating for that are people that just seem to be opportunistically jumping on the bandwagon). But after all having principles and sticking by them is something that takes restraint and will power. If was easy it wouldn't really be admirable when people actually did. Because everyone would do it.

TL:DR
To sum it all up. Even if they do realize how bad it is. It's not going to stop censorship. It's going to just change roles like it has in the past. One side will forget, and think the other deserves to be censored. Then the other will do the same thing. And nothing will ever change. (I'm just realizing in a sense the /pol/tards are right, nothing ever happens. On the grand scale, everything stays the same in the end)

It's not like I don't think these people deserve a taste of their own medicine. I just know it's going to make things worse, instead of solving the problem.

Absolutely agree, but the problem is politics operates like a pendulum. All that will happen is you'll see the censorious religious right take over again instead of the current secular synagogue of Moloch (trannies)

I just wish niggas could keep political bullshit out of projects and just make decent code. There's a time and place for political discussion and debate and quite frankly I don't think a fucking git repo is the place for it lmfao

People just like exerting control over other people and feeling like the "main character". Left, right etc. these are all just sides of the same coin and even if the current propaganda brainrot on social media strongly encourages it for various reasons, you'd do yourself a big favor in stopping to apply these terms to everything.

That's why the "fragmentation" that current crop in FOSS rally against so much is such a good thing. If no single project is that important, then power tripping assholes have very limited reach. You don't want "The Objectively Correct Linux Software Suite" by one group of people, because then these people dictate everything and you already can imagine how that ends.

I don't expect any flipping back and forth (a pendulum), for three reasons:
  • The right, even the so-called religious right, was never censorious in the way the woke left is. They wanted to ban porn and defund Piss Christ and wanted prayer in school. But you almost never heard the right saying someone should be fired for not accepting Jesus, or that books questioning Christian doctrine should be removed from bookstores and their authors vilified and destroyed. (Notes: I'm referring to modern not medieval times, which is another world. And removing gay porn from elementary school libraries is not real book banning.) The free exchange of ideas was not substantially threatened. Obscenity law had an exception for works with "serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."
  • The pendulum is not really swinging back. The woke left still controls most important institutions. E.g., per this thread, major software projects are infested with troonery, CoCs, and Pride. And that is to say nothing of education, entertainment, and civil rights law and their interpretation, which affects all workplaces. Hate crime laws are still on the books, and prosecution victims of BLM are still in prison. Dissidents struggle to get web hosting and payment processing. The current administration is clumsily pushing back against this, but their reach is limited, and presidential terms are short. There is more cultural pushback against woke in CURRENT_YEAR, which has blunted its power, but it's far from knocked down.
  • The left and right are not just mirror symmetries of each other. The woke left fundamentally denies reality. If data doesn't support their position, it's because math is white supremacist. Scruffy middle-aged men in dresses broadcasting their gross fetishes are not only women but the most oppressed and "marginalized" of all, and any questioning puts their lives in danger. And what is the feared right? The religious right is largely a myth; Christians may be conservative on a few social issues, but churches are increasingly liberal, and likely to support black worship and mass immigration. Groups get labelled as far right who want a small government that leaves them alone. Anyone that talks about race and crime or IQ is called a right-wing white supremacist, even if they have liberal views on taxation, economics, etc. What is there that is the actual equivalent of the woke left? ("Woke right" is a meme, and almost none of them are reality-denying and censorious.) Perhaps LARPing neo-Nazis, of which there are a few dozen.
For example, some people got cancelled or fired for cheering Charlie Kirk's murder. But while this is the right successfully adopting the left's tactics, celebrating someone getting shot in the neck is just a bad look regardless of politics. And the phenomenon was short-lived; Jimmy Kimmel was off the air for less than a week. If people start getting fired for protesting against ICE or supporting BLM, that will be closer to an equivalence.
