Correct. Rust is not Free Software (praised be RMS). You are not guaranteed that the compiler remains free for you to use. If the trannies want to start fucking people over, they can. There is no second compiler for Rust, so if you are prevented from using the one compiler, you are kind of screwed (tbh there are only a handful of languages that have a second implementation C, C++, Python, Lua, Lisp, Fortran, D, Scheme and that's about it).

Huh, I wasn't aware Rust wasn't free. Now that's a good catch to know - and definitely an artificial push for implementing this shitty fucking language everywhere. No wonder, it must be rejected by anyone sane.
This may seem like a ridiculous question at face value, yet is +NIGGER licence enough to "stop" trannies from infiltration on projects or would it be necessary to extreme vetting and all that?

rust is actually free software because you have your four freedoms (i could make a +NIGGER rust compiler and they couldn't stop me)
the fact that it's developed by open source retards doesn't somehow make it not free
of course, i would not be able to put "rust" in the name of this compiler, because rust's name is trademarked (this is mildly concerning but i am sure it could be worked around)
you could probably even reference from and even copy code from the rustc rust compiler to assemble such a compiler
the license of the rust compiler allows you to use the last working version of the compiler you get forever
if they fuck it up massively, it will likely be forked from the last version without the antifa license and that will be that
it's free enough that rustc and many rust programs are packaged in fsdg-compliant gnu/halal distros
have you heard of the gnu general public license? gpl3 alone is strangely repellent to many trannies and corpo-aligned shitheads

So on one hand he lambasts ffmpeg for being too mean on twitter, but on the other he can be as mean as he wants on Twitter. I've never seen the ffmpeg account throw direct insults, calling someone brainless, etc. The double standards are insane. I think this is what I hate the most about him and trannies and all the gay shit, there's 0 consistency. Always double standards, rules for thee but not for me.
There's also his clique with mister Software and primeagen. Prime at least seems to be more down to earth, I've seen him say he supports the ffmpeg account guy in a tweet so at least he's not going on the defense 24/7 for his butt buddy. But during the scandal with PirateSoftware he did have his back. Maybe Theo is just a shitty friend and his attitude is the same in real life?

I can write shit in ISO C from the standard not limiting myself to any compiler. Pascal - good luck limiting yourself to ISO Pascal, dialects are not compatible. Ada - only GNAT is active (1 impl). Prolog/Forth/COBOL - lmao. JS - ok, maybe node & bun are active, independent and compatible. ML - which ML? sh - not general purpose. Java - they are all downstream from openjdk.

I really don't understand the people that were acting as if the ffmpeg account owner, and theo were two sides of the same coin. They really aren't.
One was was trying to get people to contribute code, or money to help fund an open source project that the majority of the world uses, if they have any kind of video playback functionality. The other is a egotistical, gay, shill for proprietary software. That goes on a crusade every time he has his ego bruised even a little.
And that last sentence was the core of what his issue with ffmpeg really was. He didn't care that they were mean. He only cared that they were saying that to him. It's the same shit he has done idk how many times now. You could say its a bit of a behavior pattern. The guys a whiny, smug, lolcow. Who I've hated since the first time I found a video of him. Then I was vindicated when I saw how he acts outside of his videos. Really he's pretty similar to thor in a lot of ways, but I personally find him even more insufferable for whatever reason.
On Primagen. He's talked a bit about Theo. They don't always get along from what I remember him saying when Theo was brought up. I don't think I ever looked into what their beef was about. But IIRC he said he didn't like Theo at all at one point, then over time they became more friendly.
I do want to add. When you are using shell scripting for something reasonable. It's still fast enough that you really won't notice any delay. Obviously the more ambitious you get with it, the more speed will come into play. Especially if people are forking and execing external tools in their script. Also dash does actually help.
I know that's not the point of what you were saying. I just felt like adding that. Obviously in the context of general programming it's not going to be even close to the speeds of something like C or go, and for data processing its slower than python. There are use cases when using shell scripting will actually be faster than if you used python for the same thing. Just depends on the use case.

Heads of open source OS development seem to be suffering from a curse. Despite not having the most common names, they have shitty doppelgangers on Youtube. Theo de Raadt and TheoGG (gay, useless web dev), Linus Torvalds and Linus Sebastian (100% slop, 0% actual information, co-creator of Tech Shrek). Throws me for a loop sometimes when reading this thread.
