I was looking for some open source software for personal use and I found a GitHub where some Ukrainian spent two fucking paragraphs saying that if you download this software you agree and then he proceeded to write the most fucking pro NATO anti-russian thing possible and the only thing I can think of was bro. I'm just here to download software. I don't fucking care because that's really what's going to affect this war.

I don't really like Omarchy much, but I'm happy to see it get some traction. It seems that the trannies calling DHH a nazi only expedited the winning.

Virtually every software youtuber is a poser, yes. It's not a serious place, I'll never understand what people think they're going to learn watching slop videos.

Yeah. I tried to watch some CodingJesus videos a year or two ago and they really weren't that great. Mostly him recycling interview buzzwords and topics and telling people they're "cooked." He doesn't have much amount of knowledge outside his niche, as I saw when he tried to ask Python questions to someone (he's a quantitative analysis guy programming in C++).

I watch primagen occasionally but his videos are basically reaction slop to news.

Whenever I try to watch the "big" software YouTubers I just get annoyed. It's also clear that they aren't nearly as knowledgeable as others believe them to be.

For what its worth, Omarchy is a lot more than just a collection of scripts now. At this point they are more like manjaro, maintaining their own builds of arch packages kept behind a week or more, they switched to quickshell this version, which is far more powerful than waybar or any other window manager bar, in exchange for being harder to script, since its no longer just css layouts, they have their own applications, and has deeply tied AI to the base of the OS in a way that actually makes sense, a debugger and a tray icon, thats all.
