Brian Lunduke put out a video yesterday covering the press release about the megabackers who made the big Omarchy donations and sure enough, it is a direct response to the increasing radicalization of the Linux world and a move to push for de-politicizing Open Source software.

It’s funny, people used to mock me when I said communism was a big driver in the Free Software movement after reading Stallman’s GNU Manifesto in the 90s.

I mean, shit, it was called a fucking MANIFESTO, for Christ’s sake.

Now nobody can argue that it isn’t all run by communists and going the route of everything communism touches with the infighting, purity spirals, scapegoating and purges, and fools still act like it wasn’t obvious from the start.

Stallman is an entirely different species of communist.

You read his blog and get the impression he's further to the left than most people on most topics barring biological delusions or newspeak.

But whenever he's asked to comment on Free Software he's so pedantic that he makes all these nu-commies seethe. His answers to troll questions often look like "sure you can put GNU Emacs code into your missile guiding system and strike Palestine with it, but you must share the code with its users under the same license", "sure you can use GNU Taler as an electronic payment system for your concentration camp but remember that since it's AGPL the people accessing your servers must have access to any modifications to the source code that you make."

He does not let flavor-of-the-day politics muddle his Free Software advocacy and it's the reason they tried to cancel him. It's also the reason they failed to cancel him.

They would've done a much better job of cancelling him if they met him on his own terms and noted he never provably delivered on his promise of Free Unix, playing the same sort of pedantic games to twist facts until it has a semblance of truth (which, if you squint hard enough, it really does). There's footage of him throwing a temper tantrum when things don't go his way, so I have little doubt that it's possible to rile him up to a point where he can utterly discredit himself. It's just a matter of selecting the right bait and catching him like a monkey in a coconut trap. Alas, nu-commies are fucking retarded, and so we are robbed of our lulz.

Maybe we'll luck out and someone will do the job before cancer does it for us.
