Just like clockwork, this dangerhair admits the only reason it gives two shits about FOSS is for farming clout online and as another group to infiltrate and destroy. The fact it works for Microsoft makes it even better because it adds to the theory that dangerhairs are trying to stamp out FOSS for corporations.

I've been convinced for a while that cancellation culture is something that's farmed by more powerful actors in the background to quiet people they don't like. This really does give some credit to that theory.
It's really a pity what happened to modern tech and software development. Besides all that wokeness garbage that just leads to inferior attitudes towards the work at hand, the whole stance about elegant code being essentially useless as long as you can shit out something quick in python with dependencies on about 800 libraries really sits very unwell with me. People that call themselves nerds but don't care that their init system they don't understand eats half their ram and will happily buy new product to compensate. That's not the "tech world" I grew up in. There are too many people in tech that really shouldn't be in tech and just pull everyone around them down to their level, an attitude that's even encouraged in woke ideology. It was a better field when it was just for the few and the autistic. The elitism served a clear purpose.

Even then it was still generally welcoming and inclusive af. You get out what you put in and too many people seem to think they're entitled to get more out than they put in.
The fucking scary thing right now though is just how unapproachable some of these topics are in some circles.... just look at that stallman thread by Sarah Mai, anyone questioning is getting labeled as some racist/misogynist/whatever.
Thankfully though, there are lots of great people in tech that seem to be resisting this kind of thing.

It looks like she only contributes to Rust and Node, both notoriously optimized
to be as easy as possible for beginners. Chick doesn't even know Python by the looks of it.

Yeah I use it for some hobby projects. Its memory safety is a pretty big reason to use it over C++..... despite some of the exceptional people in its community/team, they're generally a good bunch of people.

Rust isn't exactly high on the Tiobe index. Mozilla's shilling lacked the same pull they had when Firefox was the top web browser and every non-Wintel platform had Firefox. More people write in ASM, Lisp, COBOL, F#, or D than rust. Rust is mostly favored by obnoxious techies and troons and it shows. Places like /g/ consider rust a trendy fad language used by trannies and lolcows.
And well, considering the community around the language it's easy to see why it has that rep regardless of your opinion on it.
