Oprah Winfrey 'actively considering a run' for US President in 2020, say sources close to star - You get a tax break! You get a tax break! You get a tax break!

Things are going to get interesting in 2020 if Oprah decides to seek the nomination. I have very little to say outside of, "what the fu--?" though I know there are plenty of people salivating at the thought of having a former talk show host as PotUS. I mean, there is a precedent for actors and media personalities moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

These are the same people who say Trump shouldn't be in office because he was a TV star.

I guess it's the old... it's okay when we do it.

While Trump is ill suited and a hundred other things, he at least pretended to care about people and their concerns.

All the while Oprah and co were calling them racist and deplorable and especially telling women their is a spot in hell for them if they didn't vote for Hillary.

It was only natural that a country so absorbed by media are the ones who want to elect candidates based on charisma and exposure rather than on principles. Then again, hasn’t it always been this way?

It really is true that the people end up with the government they deserve.

Y'all crackas bout to get shown how it's done.

It's like the Democrats want to lose.

Believe it or not, Trump was considering (possibly being tongue in cheek) Oprah as his running mate when he was running for president in 2000 as a candidate for the reform party.

Regardless how truthful it was, Oprah running against him would be a disaster for both her and the Democrat party if they ended up nominating her. Not only would be hypocritical (remember Trump is too inexperienced because he's not a politician) and her being very rich as well, I just don't see how they could compete without mentioning her race and gender as her only asset in being the nominee.

There was an idea among the democrats to run The Rock just because "we're electing celebrities now". I see the same thing with Oprah. Trump is different from your average celebrity; he had to deal with the cut throat NYC real estate market and the Mafia. Yeah, your celebrity may be charismatic, but he or she cannot be as ruthless as Trump.
