rarely I say. too much money involved, all it requires just a little change (if it isn't made with china in mind from the start).
same reason europe can fine us-companies at will and make them follow eu-law.

Also, if you want to sell games in China, let alone do business in general, you most likely have to partner up with a Chinese company in order to do so. Blizzard's games were briefly shutdown in China in 2023 after their deal with NetEase expired, and then were brought back to China after they signed a new deal with NetEase a year later.

Notice ever since marvel rivals the overwatch devs have to make attractive female characters again instead of shit like venture, also d.mon is just more of the same take other hero abilities and mush it into one character what with her Brigitte shield, her d.va mech and her Vendetta sword.

The only thing i know is only attractive overwatch characters get riped-off their models and being basically raped in all those insane parodies.

You have near all the OG roster, Juno and now this.

No Zarya, no that shitskin bronish non-binary fucker, and so on.

Overwatch is doing it's third Le Sserafim collab, which is undeniably their most popular collab and it's been claimed that the first wave of skins was so successful that it saved Overwatch.

Now the third collab has been officially revealed ahead of Blizzcon and it turns out two of the skins are Ultra skins, which is a rarity Blizzard created this year. They're $40 for one Ultra skin, and they're legendaries with some extra sound effects. The first time they tried this there was an outcry from the community and while we don't have sales numbers, anecdotally no one has seen these skins in matches.

It seems they're doing it again but this time with a sure-fire hit like the Le Sserafim bundles. It's such blatant greediness from Blizzard, both times they tried this they gave Ultra's to the new heroes (who don't have any other skins so fans feel compelled to buy it). This time around one of the skins is just a recolour of the default mech. I think this playerbase has so many women and gays who will buy anything but I hope this underperforms because this is so shamefully lazy.

It also seems like Blizzard are hiding or deleting negative replies. The main tweet is mostly positive comments (posted by paid shills, approved creators, streamers, etc) which does not reflect the rest of Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, etc.

I'm genuinely fucking astonshed because I haven't met a single person who even likes Le Sserafim and I hang out in the exact circles where people who like it SHOULD be found.
Blizzard have an obsession with East Asia, namely Japan and South Korea. Most of their skin themes, new heroes and collaborations fit in this box. If you’re a band, game or show from this region; Blizzard will collab if you’re willing.

Their last collab was with a Japanese band called Yoasobi and that was a well received bundle, it had unique designs at expected prices.

It’s understandable how this happened because Blizzard is staffed by fat, middle-aged nerds; the target demographic for anime shit. Overwatch also enjoys a large Korean player base who have made it clear that if they had their way; every new hero would be a 20-something cutesy Asian girl.

Also, South Korea was one the earliest founders of E-Sports, with Brood War becoming a national sport during its peak there. Most of Blizzard's other games also have a fair share of East Asian players too, as over 1/2 of the participants in this year's Hearthstone World Championship (yes, their clownfiesta card game does have an E-Sports scene that's somehow still going) are from East Asia. (4 Chinese, 3 Koreans, and 2 Taiwanese Chinese Taipeians)

I play the hog. He play the same style for a decade. Now he is not that. They might as well have shut down the gamer servers from my perspective. It's not like the game is a particularly important fixture in my life, but it is disappointing to have a playstyle I have enjoyed for years be removed.

How did Blizzard change his kit?

I also remembered that I stopped playing the original Overwatch because Blizzard reworked Symmetra and removed her auto-aim LMB.

And why do game developers do these "reworks" of characters, but they're actually deleting the old character and replacing it with a new one that happens to have the same name as the old one? Riot Games is very guilty of this with League of Legends, as numerous Champions received "reworks/remakes/remasters/re-"insert buzzword here"", because they deemed the original kit to have "toxic gameplay". Riot even takes those reworks further by changing the Champion's look, and sometimes even replacing the voice actor too.

And even DOTA 2 couldn't escape this shit, since they reworked Techies away from his guerilla warfare gameplay because people kept fucking bitching about it.

sombra support im actually going to fucking uninstall
not as bad as I expected, but still refuse to play support in 2026 overwatch. And she's just so slow and boring to play as a flanker now. it is what it is. Plus these faggots will probably get me banned if I continue to play like this, regardless of how effective it is:

I was never a huge sombra main, but she has been my most played character since I picked up the game again. her gameplay loop was super fun and I loved cucking ults with hack. Probably going back to Soldier now, or learning something new that I never played before. Been enjoying Reaper and Pharah a lot too.

I think it depends. In the case of Sombra, the people who buy the most skins have been complaining about her for about a decade. Blizzard has to protect that demographic at all costs. For league, it's usually about revamping ancient outdated characters that no one plays like sion, yorick, urgot, etc. In the case of dota2 techies, the devs just hate fun and wanted to delete my favorite character as a personal attack on me.

At least Valve didn't change Techies's looks and voice actor, compared to how Riot Games does with some of their reworks.

I always wondered why they dont keep the older version of characters. Maybe not make them available in tournaments and rank matches but atleast make them playable in casual formats.

It's either too much effort to keep the old version in the game, their "toxic gameplay", or in the case of League of Legends's reworks, wanting to 86 the "problematic" voice actors out of the game when their reworks also change the VA.
