Can someone who actually uses Twitter tell me if Patrick has even slightly of a point with oinking about how Twitter is dead or soooo much worse?
Taking away checkmarks from random assholes selected by a shadow council and changing them into different media and gov ones and the "community notes" system all seem like okay to good changes to me.
Is the platform actually worse, or does he just have Musk Derangement Syndrom because it goes nicely with his TDS?

been using twitter for a long time. i think the fact you have to be logged in now to see most stuff is the worst change. that to me is zuck-like and restricts the availability of info. imo the various other technical changes are not a big deal at all. community notes are fun.
the biggest change in general is that musk has powerfully reshaped the twitter userbase, which changes the vibe.
a lot of the new york times-y establishment smug "expert" libs are gone, which is great, and there are a lot more maga boomer-mentality types who are stupider but less annoying in my personal opinion.
musk claims to be anti-censorship but he def kills off any anti-establishment accounts andy ngo tells him to. but these are "kill cops" type accounts that i'm sure pat would also want banned.
also all the above demographic shift is only true for english-language twitter. these days i primarily use twitter for info in a different language and the userbase there hasn't changed.

I’m inclined to believe Pat is lying about this draft being nearly complete and there will be no docs going out to anyone. The pressure has been on him to get to work since he was bailed out of a fraction of his debt to Quasi but he hasn’t slowed down his 24/7 tweeting at any point.

Just realized that what Pat actually needs is some sort of researcher and not a beta reader. He'd have to pay them, though - beta readers are supposed to help you with structure/things that need to be cut/confusing parts and you know he's going to get angry when they come back with notes.
