So, after two years he had the model assembled, maybe modified (not aware of a kit that has the side of the saucer damaged like that*) primed and basecoated, and mostly masked.......how is that two years of work? Building a big, complicated kit, which this isn't, take a few weeks. Priming and base costing takes a few hours. I'll give him the masking being slow, since he's going for the most autistic possible paint scheme (on the NX 01 of all things). But not it's not two years of work.

I know nothing of models, but two years seems really long. What did he use to apply the paint? A tooth pick?

I am assuming that for you dedicated and talented model makers, this is akin to when Patrick used to boast about his marathon times, which as an avid runner, I always loved. The times he would tweet were so obviously faked.

There is no fucking way he had actively spent two years on that thing. Maybe he spent a weekend here or there and got distracted. But no...two years straight. Half the fucking time it took Michaelangelo to do the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

That is the greatest thing about Patrick. He can take people from completely different backgrounds, social groups, etc and unite them as one. Because we all become trolls and dangerous stalkers. Simply not accepting the whatever dumbass thing he spits out on social media makes us all Hitler.

The NRA sucks because, unlike GOA or state-specific gun rights organizations, they don't represent gun owners. They're an arms industry lobby and their concern is maximizing their corporate partners' profits - not protecting Americans' 2nd Amendment rights.

But any reasonable person would describe the time invested as something like "Oh, I've just been picking at it for a couple of years."

Somewhat related, when my son was to be born, I was having a lot of self doubt as a future young father. I asked an older coworker who I respect, who had kids, what fatherhood was like.

"You don't have time, money, or energy for hobbies". Damn if that wasn't true. Totally worth it though.
