So let's look at a very peculiar habit of Phil's, that being, Phil's tendency to feel challenged over absolutely nothing. This is in contrast to his ignoring actual challenges, like to take a shower, eat a healthy meal, or admit he's white.

My favorite example, because it was just so absurd, was after his ball-chopping charade, he immediately starts posting on Facebook that Kiwis want to see his surgically altered junk. Phil not only posts this, but frames it as us demanding nudes of him (no one did, ew) and acting as if he were defying us by not providing them. He even tried to get his asspatters on board by asking for "protection" from our requests. Then he slowly changed his tune to "I'll post my nudes if you buy me a bike... you know, because you forced me, and I want to get something out of it." When that failed, he posted his dick anyway. Because, let's face it, Phil doth protest too much. From the very beginning of the saga, he was looking for an excuse to post his acorn cock on the farms, and since he couldn't make anyone beg him, he just gave it up for a Cheerio. In fact, I think it's very possible that the entire ball-chopping drama was created by Phil solely for the purpose of showing his penis to us, cuz he somehow gets off on that.

The name-changing saga is the same thing. Phil has been posting over and over that we can't stop him from getting a name change. Thing is... no one wants to. We don't give a shit what name he wants, and we never have. To us, he's still Phil because he still has a cock and is still a man. What he wants to have on his AutismBux check is really unimportant. Yet he's been going on and on acting as if each step in the process is a major victory, when actually, no one is trying to stop him at all. Like showing us his dick, I think it's something he wanted to do anyway, he's just trying to make himself into a victim as a result of it. Why?

:autism:? No, at least not entirely.

:suffering: Ding ding ding.

Honestly I think he's just a huge attention whore.

Notice how almost everything he says is about him. He knows what kinds of things to say that will get someone to talk about him here, and he wants people to talk about him more than anything else. It doesn't matter that we're laughing at him; just the fact that it will get people talking about him makes it worth it posting it.

It also has the side-effect of letting him pretend that he has an enemy, which he can use to his advantage for pity points (more attention) from the asspaters whose attention he really covets.

Or maybe Phil really is just a stupid potato.

Phil doesn't exist without an oppressive enemy to bravely fight. He has no self-conception beyond his righteous victimhood; thus the regular identity changes. Ask him who he is, or to describe himself, and the only descriptors you get are directly related to oppression points and his "struggles".

Maybe the whole ball saga was a way for him to get off because he figured we'd make fun of his micropenis. Thus fulfilling his humiliation fantsays.

I think you're close. He tries to aggravate one group to fit in with another because there really isn't much substance to him. He doesn't have wit or charm to help make a place for himself in groups so he tries to make it happen in other ways. We're perceived and have presented ourselves as the opposite of whatever culture/group he's trying to be a part of so if he paints himself as a victim then he'll get pity and knee-jerk support from those in his new tribe. It's worked a few times but Phil's toxic personality fucked him over in the end and they bailed. It's a mixture of deep insecurity, wanting to belong, and selfishness.

I think the problem is he's getting diminished returns. When we initially took interest in him he had a lot more support but over time Phil has milked the "Damn Kiwis" thing so much that many of his friends have started ignoring him. I think he's now just trying anything he thinks will get things back on the oppressed track. Kiwi farms say I'm a liar? I'll lie to prove them wrong. Being a trans communist isn't getting asspats? Hey, I'm totally going to use the sex worker bit again and hope people show support for that. People don't think I really fear for my life? Better claim I got a gun to make people think I honestly believe I'll be attacked. None of it is working and he doesn't know any other approach. Also if he's worried about things in his offline life then the longing for support from his adopted tribe escalates. I think that's when he'd normally threaten suicide. It'd usually result in quick replies offering help and support which would quell that insecurity of nobody caring about him. This is probably why Dusty seems to have a way with Phil. He made Phil feel like someone cared about him without needing to be lied to or emotionally blackmailed. It isn't going to end well for anyone though because even if he got that feeling back it wouldn't be enough. A compulsive gambler isn't going to stop gambling once he wins the jackpot.

Now let's go do another drive-by.

Many people with inferiority complexes who try desperately to convince everyone that they're actually superior to everyone (like Phil) tend to feel challenged by anything and everything, including stupid, meaningless shit. Phil is so engrossed in his facade of superiority that he constantly has to "defend" any perceived slight. Since he is ALWAYS feeling slighted he is therefore always being defensive, even when the best course of action would be for him to just shut up and move on.

As far as the whole "lying about my tater tots to get off on making Kiwis look at my thimble penis" thing...I dunno. That's kind a convoluted plan and deep thinking for Phil. I mean, Phil is a massive perv and it wouldn't surprise me if he got off on that shit, even the humiliation aspect of it since he's probably used to people putting him down, but I stand by my opinion that such a complex plan would be a bit of a stretch for Philly.

Oh boy - you are dead on the money, when I was a kid there was a home for people around the corner much like Phil there was on guy who lived there and used to go buy a paper every day an sat in the park looking like he was reading it, well it turns out he was illiterate, an got very angry if you asked him anything from the paper (we found this out by some one asking him the football score from the night before).

Phil sorta does this with books about political theory, while he's not illiterate in the classical sense he has next to no reading comprehension - when he does read it's more mechanical i.e. he can't understand the larger point or decipher subtext, and some words an phrases he totally mangles the meaning and makes his own up.

This is why when he's questioned on the subject he tends to assume a condescending tone (to sound like he's superior, he's picked this up from people explaining something to him many times over), and try's to shout people down when they corner him on the subject.

The thing is he's just self aware enough to know he's not normal but that's the very limit of his understanding, he's frustrated nearly perpetually because he thinks he knows how the world works but is totally unable to understand it in a very fundamental way, that's why he try's to act superior and fronts a rough an tumble exterior.
