rutracker is awesome def recommend signing up for it

relatively easy to join private trackers that are great:
aither.cc for film & tv, good community imo mods are far less faggoty than most trackers (you can't say the nigger word but at least they wont mute you for discussing shit that's "off topic" in the shoutbox or irc). upload.cx and LST.gg also deserve mentions although i am not very active on them.

iptorrents and torrentleech which i mentioned earlier, i have invites but not willing to use them cuz accounts are linked to personal info

m-team, not hard to find an invite maybe someone in this thread will offer you one, they just don't really recruit for whatever reason. it's a chinese tracker but it is very good in terms of coverage across categories, also if you join m-team you can eventually get invited to even better chinese PTs like TTG, PTerclub and whatnot. check in with me after a few months and i might have enough bonus points to buy an invite

orpheus if you want music, RED is the top tier music tracker and it probably always will be but i think for like 99% of people they will be perfectly happy with orpheus. better moderation than RED, less unnecessarily strict rules, great community, very active requests section, it's easier to maintain ratio i could go on. i don't have any invites but similar to m-team, maybe someone would be willing to give you one

I should really try getting into private trackers. Public stuff is fine in a lot of cases, but if shit starts getting obscure you will find nothing or just dead torrents.

TorrentLeech does open signups once in a while and that's how I got in. It's been pretty good!

This might be a baby level question. But I got a friend who doesn't want to give money to these shitty mega corps but wants something "as easy" as their smart tv (click the app with the remote no thinking). Is there some software or guide which I can follow to make a android tv (that onn Walmart Android tv box) or something a pirate device? I have an old PC I don't mind turning into a server (although I have zero ide how to do it). But I'm imagining it also to have vpn access so they can watch foreign tv/netflix that's region locked if they can't find their pirated shows. I am use to just downloading each episode via torrent but for them it's "too technical". Send help.

Kodi is one of the usual gotos for this use case. It's also kinda trash but see how well it works for him I guess.

Then do that. You can connect to his TV via HDMI and install something, like @analrapist said, Kodi or something that's to your preference. You would also be able to use keyboard and mouse which could be handy for going to specific websites. If your friend uses a laptop, it could easily be connected to the TV via HDMI and used like his regular laptop.

If you want him to have an adroid box where you can also download episodes for him, you can install VLC on it and let him access it via FTP or mka it a Plex server. It would manage a stream between his box and your server, all he has to do is use his remote to access it while you do the backend work. There are plenty of guides online for any method described.

What about something where the pc doesn't have to be with them? Something where they can "tap" into my pc.

That's my second paragraph. You'd be able to manage a plex server or use FTP. You'd have to port forward on your end to let them be able to access it. You could buy a domain in case you don't have a static IP-adress.

I actually have some of these advertisements on my DVDs, translated to my language. Some prime stuff in there, I can post it later.
