I think you're probably underestimating how overrun some of these subreddits got. A lot of the piracy and roms subreddits get so overrun with questions like, "Will downloading Pokemon Blue on Vimm's Lair give me a virus?" they became unusable.

That's not to say I'm defending the regulars and mods on a lot of these subreddits. I noticed before that many regular /r/piracy users recommend against some torrent sites because they have misleading ads that lead to malware, indicating that they don't have any kind of adblocker installed. That shows you how deep the brain trust is on a lot of these subreddits.
An insane amount of people just don't use adblockers.

Much like 4chan, the biggest problem with Reddit is the moderation. There's way too many auto-reply bots and manual post deletion. I never even attempted to be super edgy or disruptive, yet I got banned (sometimes shadowbanned) from multiple subreddits. If you have any complaints, you can't directly reply to the person/bot who was responsible for all this trouble. There's nothing you can do and it's better to ignore this shithole unless you want a very simple answer to a technical problem or something like that.

I don't have a problem with their userbase because I understand how the most popular message board on the Internet has to be regulated and censored. It's obvious how about 90% of posters are brain dead. The Farms truly is one of the last bastions of free speech. Almost everything else is censored, globalized and pozzed.

To be fair, I stopped using /r/roms because 99% of posts were just some variation of, "How use rom?" or "Where get rom?" or "What is CHD?".
Fair. I stopped using r/miniverse_makeitmini because people kept asking what these were:

(I had suggested mods add a pinned post with these and various other parts people constantly asked about, but they said no)

r/piracy will remove a meme with 700+ upvotes and give no reason. They treat piracy like some heavily gatekept secret club for only the most seasoned of sailors.

I fucking love you, man. There are 2 movies with very generic one-word titles that are a pain to search for on most sites.
Guessing from your profile picture, one of them is M3gan?

I used to frequent r/piracy for stuff like this, but Reddit has become an absolute hellhole and I've given up on it entirely. Still fairly new to piracy/torrenting and y'all are infinitely more helpful and less hostile.
Try and use piracy aggregators such as Solidtorrents.to, which is my go-to at the moment. It includes your YTS' torrent files.

These days, they'll just say "read the megathread" and the mods would remove your post from the sub. I used to kinda like some parts of Reddit, but now it's just constant anger at everyone.
I would agree with them, but I'm not against helping newbies. There is a manual for a reason.

I can already imagine that some rogue mod says "Go to PirateBay, it's got zero viruses, no need to be alarmed or to use Adblock!" just to troll because these people can't think for themselves.

I sure do, annoying, hiveminded, know-it-all twats. Never allowed to be mean, never allowed to criticize unless the general populous says that it's bad. You will use uBitTorrent until we do not like it, you will pirate only AAA games unless we do not like the developer and of course, we hate president until we're told not to. :politisperg:

Well, I mean there's nothing specific about them. I don't like them, but they're like random people I pass on the street.

I do hate the jannies, though. I was rolling my eyes years ago when 4chan users were saying "they do it for free" ad nauseam, but now I get it. If you're not only a censor, but you also don't even get compensated for mass deleting threads, you're a special kind of a useful idiot.

I have to use soulseek most of the times to find old albums, as TPB won't have enough seeds or even torrents available. I'm not talking about anything crazy obscure, for example Sun Kil Moon doesn't have enough seeds.

Anidius who is best known for his EA DLC Unlocker and various other tools has stepped down. Maybe some Kiwi can maintain the tools he left behind? Either way, the west have fallen, billions must cry.

Or a music band called "Unknown Artist"
Holy shit that’s my favorite band. They have an entire library worth of albums and their musical style is so varied that it never gets old.

Soulseek has come through for me where others have failed and with soularr the community has become more friendly in general. I’d recommend it. I think services like Spotify have really hurt music torrents, but niche communities can thrive in the vacuum.

His Sims 4 tools helped me confirm that I was better off wasting my time on literally any of the other Sims games. RIP to a real one.

Holy shit, this is awesome. I've got the traditional *arr stack already running, so this is practically plug-and-play. Thank you so much for pointing this out!

Also, reddit has a downvote feature that actually hides junk after a low enough negative score, does it not?
Reddit banned so many people over increasingly homosexual groupthink they probably ran out of actual people to ban which makes such curation moot

I bet you most of the "HOW TO REDEEM THE NEEDFUL .SMC SARR" and "500 reasons to kill whitey" posts are from bots and nons using the pregenerated usernames
