When I was at the uni, a single person from my class would borrow a textbook from the uni's library. Then we'd stand in line to the xerox machine and make copies of pages we were supposed to read. It was tedious as hell, but it was our only option because those books were hard to find and/or really expensive because they were mostly British. Also, that was over 20 years ago and downloading ebooks wasn't popular yet.
 
I find it pretty funny that Melania Trump's movie was marketed to the tune of 35 million dollars but it's still not on any sites I looked at. They can't sell tickets to see it. They can't pay people enough to sit through it in a theater. It can't be given away. It is apparently completely devoid of value. I think there is a quote from some anime like this, maybe Akira. I'm paraphrasing, but: "It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with, it doesn't feel pain or remorse"

I did find a Mediterranean diet cookbook by someone named Melania but I had to scroll past dozens of porn torrents.

I for one, am not interested in movies fellatioing current day politicalfags(Remember the dozens of obama movies?) But its not exactly shocking that hollywood would refuse to cooperate with Hitler 10,000's wife and do everything in their power to torpedo the showings.

Also the movie is probably shitty.

I remember watching a Cracked(?) video a while back where they were just searching for a torrent of the Entourage movie and it simply didn't exist. It was just that bad. Now if only we could purge the internet of any and all Uncork'd Media films. Those are a special level of bad. You could give them an Oscar-winning cast and crew and they'd still fuck it up. For reference, the only place I've found Uncork'd in the wild is Redbox machines' purchase section.

Some might view this as ☪️ but I try and grab BD/BD Remux where I can. Everything I download gets fed into tdarr and encoded into AV1 with a flow I stole from a random GitHub and edited to my tastes made. I’d prefer to start with the best possible base file. While AV1 has its own issues I’d say I’ve got it pretty much nailed.
 
anyone want a societyglitch invite? atypical tracker has only 1,000 torrents but it's cool as hell regardless, they specialize in the very weird shit you cant find anywhere else.

KF account must be at least two years old and you must have been at least somewhat active throughout your time on the site.

PM me please don't shit up the thread, i have unlimited invites but not willing to give them to everyone.

edit: their rules are some of the best and they wont ban you for stupid reasons, thats part of the reason why i like the site so much.

edit 2: no more invites for today the site is somewhat wary of an influx of new users joining. i think three invites is as much as im comfortable with for right now but i will offer more in the future. if you want to gain access to the site then please be willing to contribute to it in some way.

you can find a scrape of a lot of the content on btdigg, im trying to convince admins to allow scraping so long as it doesn't fuck with the site too hard. i have a feeling they will agree because like i said they have never not been cool in my experience.

on btdigg theres a large torrent floating around that contains all of this site's content as of the date when the torrent was created.

frankly i think this should be allowed, content exclusivity will never not be gay as hell and in actuality there is very little you can do to prevent scrapes from occurring if the people conducting them are smart about it. i'm not going to do this myself because i want to try to respect the wishes of the site admins, but also this site's staff are cool and get a lot right that other tracker staff don't.

content posted on societyglitch as well as other trackers like KG CG or myspleen should absolutely be preserved for posterity and accessible to all.

When it comes to ripping discs, I found (working with my brother) that the ripping part is pretty easy with MakeMKV, but the re-encoding (lower file size + more compatible format) is what takes a long time. Once you have the MKVs you can convert them in a batch and have your computer work overnight or while away (this isn't ideal if your computer is in the same room as you/sounds like a wind tunnel). I did for this my brother for some DVDs that he wasn't able to get digital. (Most of his movie files are studio approved and DRM'd up, but that's his choice).

Anna's Archive as I mentioned before sometimes grabs the lower-file size stuff from archive.org which results in blurry, botched images. (This affects magazines a lot too). They managed to get The Robot Zoo by John Kelly (hard to find these days) which I can't find on the actual archive.org but the messed-up version is on Anna's. Sigh.

Thankfully, I finished that task months ago. Or at least the only post of it that mattered (my horror movie collection). Initially I was just torrenting my absolute favorite titles so I'd have higher-quality copies. Eventually, i just started torrenting all but the most obscure titles that I simply couldn't find torrents of.
 
Got all episodes of Best Friends Whenever on iTunes. Gonna give TunesKit a shot. Unfortunately, iTunes does not have any episodes of Make It Pop. At this point, I'm just doing this for the sake of preservation.

eta: Had some issues figuring out how to remove DRM with TunesKit. Looking into WinX MediaTrans. Anyone here got experience with it?
