Isn't this just people LARPing their favorite anime childhood and going through all these mind gymnastics to justify sharing it with everyone? "No I'm not lonely or insane; I got a condition!".

Me and some friends pretended to have portals to Hogwarts in our backyard as kids and came to school to talk about made-up shit. Cringe sure, but dear god was it nothing compared to what these nutjobs do. Do they lay in bed forcing themselves to think like nutjobs or have they really gaslit themselves thoroughly?

Like troonery, it's a maladaptive coping mechanism to deal with anxiety or depression. The real world causes too much discomfort, so you escape into a fantasy. The only thing that makes them different is that they try much harder to keep reality at bay. Having other people to share in and affirm your delusion makes it much stronger.

Birds of a feather....

People were claiming to be the fictional characters, and still do. The overlap between people faking DID and faking being anime characters is almost a complete circle.
20 years ago they were known as soulbonders online, now I think they're mostly known as fictionkin. People do identify as other real, living people as well, and these are known as factkin; pariahs even among the weird multiplicity otherkin circles.
There are apparently rules for interacting with "duplicates," some communities don't allow them, but most do. The screeching that ensues from two "duplicate" fictionkin can really be a sight to behold, though.

I overheard a 16 year old with multiple facial piercings talking to some green-haired gay about how we need more representation for plural systems, and how not all systems have 'alters' (i.e., those 'systems' with 'OSDD', she said.)

I asked her what she thought of false memory syndrome and the satanic panic. She told me that the mental health systems 'demonises' plurals and people with BPD.

Found this gem recently. SCP Fictives discord server. How does that even work??

Maybe they are finally agreeing that Dream is fat, except plot twist it's his alter who is fat NOT him.
Dream coming out as a DID system would get him out of a lot of the mess he’s in. Catfishing as a skinny twink? Dream is a sexy gayboy alter, that’s how he sees himself, you ableist— he can’t help that the host Clayton is a fatass. Voting for Trump and pissing off black Twitter? Alter. Claiming he didn’t cheat at a speedrun before finally reversing course? Memory gaps. He could do no wrong. Dream SRA arc 2021 or I quit KF.

also that Twitter trend was pure brain damage, thanks for sharing

Recently found this discord server called Plural Hub. Filled with goldmines. Apparently its a big discord group meant to be a hub for different 'Plural' servers. Believe it or not there's servers listed here for those with fictives from Genshin Impact and Undertale and of course My Hero Academia.
1623628443290.png

There also appears to be a resources section with some genuinely confusing terms such as 'Parenthnicity' According to the carrd link, some shit to due with describing an alter or apparently 'pluran' that is ethnically different from the body it inhabits. Some white kids feeling sad for being white and having alters who aren't white I guess??

1623627321961.png

There's also some actual legit organization listed as Alt+H.
1623627658813.png

Going to their website is bizarre.
Their staff is filled to the brim of insane people claiming to be alterhuman and advocating for rights of those who identify as such.

Also found this gem on some forum site linked to in this Plural Hub discord. Apparently its for systems.
Imagine writing over 70,000 words on Tulpamancy.

These are just fractions of the insanity I've found through Plural Hub

Holy shit. On another Plural discord server called Plural Nova, this person was using a bot apparently filled to the brim with hundreds of system and gender related terms trying to find some term relating to alters formed from dreams. Instead they managed to apparently find what's legitimately called SamNookgender. A fucking gender based off the DreamSMP.
I am not joking. They struggle to find the term within the bot and mention how they believe their system is not only formed through dreams but also apparently formed by what they legitimately believe is them living through lives in different dimensions. Imagine how entitled you'd have to be to actually believe this.
Also once again SCP appears. I have no clue why. Apparently SCPGender is a real thing now according to the link mentioned in the screenshot. This baffles me since I thought SCP wasn't relevant anymore at all.

https://termora.org/ Is the website for this bot. Going into their support / general discord server for it is another goldmine.
Here in the 'meta-chat' we have someone who also is apparently Sam Nook from the DreamSMP. For some reason their typing quirk includes embedding one of those 10 hour videos but of Isabelle from Animal Crossing talking. It seems to cause confusion. this same Sam Nook person also apparently has a fictive of the PluralKit Bot, a bot used for systems to use a designated proxy for their alters / headmates whatever the fuck. In general chat we have someone who mentions 'sysmeds' which leads someone to call sysmeds bigots because they don't agree that endos are real. Even within this chat, a person named dispa doesn't entirely agree with how the term sysmed is used. Speaking of the DreamSMP, the Termona search function on the website allowed me to find 7 genders based off the DreamSMP. Apparently the Termona bot has 441 terms for "plurality" 326 LGBTQ+ terms, 144 Xenogenders (??) , and 840 pronouns.

Further investigation lead me to a conversation mentioning some site called Pluralpedia. A wiki type website focused on Plurality with its own ugly mascot. https://pluralpedia.org/w/Main_Page
Clicking around on Random page brought me to some strange terms. Including Fleirgenic, basically when you don't want to know why you're fucked up in the head. "...because it doesn't matter to the system or they would feel like they would accidently cause an internalized hierarchy." tf?

They have sources? Alright I gotta follow up on this! Let's see:
I started clicking some of the references to see what their "research" looks like and its rigor is on par with anti-vaxxers. Their first source on the "Alter" page is Not the DSM-5 itself, but the Wikipedia entry FOR the the DSM-5. Lol wut? And they have the same source twice in a row,
bad research.png
Even the website they cited is like, "We're not doctors"
We aint docs.png
I kept checking for references on these pages to see if I could find a primary source. Here's a start, some references:
I clicked this.png
Is this where they got their vocabulary? (Published 2015. last Updated 2019)
Is this where they get it from.png
Finally a fucking bibliography
FinallyABibliography.png
some of the links lead to dead links, which is normal for a 5 year old blog article but suspect for academic subjects. Some lead to reputable sources such as the Mayo Clinic, Medscape, or NAMI. These are written in very broad terms about the disorder itself. But others...
Just a random Forumn.png
Are listicles a valid source of medical/psyciatric research now?
Screenshot 2021-06-16 at 11-13-23 10 Famous Cases Of Dissociative Identity Disorder - Listverse.png

A 2011 article about a person diagnosed in the 70's? Not very strong evidence given how much has changed in psychology in the past 50 years but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
Screenshot 2021-06-16 at 11-16-13 A Girl Not Named Sybil (Published 2011).png

This website meant for nurses, who last I checked weren't doctors, is so old that my browser can't take a screenshot

Overall the sources have some weak ones but it gets the fundementals of the disorder as described by the DSM-5 accurately but consistently will accept a detailed source without considering if the sources backing it up are solid evidence. Lazy or uneducated.
Ok, let's take a step back. Who is Natasha Tracy(author) and Harry Croft, MD (Reviewing doctor)?
Natasha seems chill enough. Maybe that degree in Computer Science explains why she's so shit at psych research. She definitely hasn't realized that having a mental disorder doesn't make you on an expert on all mental health disorders.

She seems alright.png

Harry Croft seems compe- wait a second...

TL;DR They're bad a research, and the people they cite are bad at research

People are multifaceted and will show different aspects of themselves based on genetics, personality, and the social environment. Depth of character is normal and expected. The "self" subject is ever changing as you learn and grow throughout life.

People can change slightly but are easily understood and not unique individuals. I think that I'm unique and special from idealizing myself as such, but don't have much to validate this belief. This makes me insecure. Having DID would validate this belief without having to change as a person and there's plenty of people online who will validate me having DID.

Extrapolating from yourself, people are easily categorized and understood. Being confronted with your own depth of character as a human being is actually better explained as having a exceedingly rare dissociative disorder and cause by a traumatic repressed childhood. This conveniently means you deserve special treatment and validation from all of your internet friends.

People's personalities are one dimensional and simplistic. Any changes in your own personality is an affront to your conception of the world as that would mean that other people may be more nuanced than you previously thought, which is obviously untrue. The people around you who show change or depth of character might actually also have a rare dissociative disorder.

Haha, personality generator go brrrrrr. Let's create our own internet cult of psychologically incorrect theories of mind and terminology to validate ourselves.

Somewhat relevant just thought to share.
Are there so many munchies that NHS in UK has to set up a special system?

From: https://inews.co.uk/news/nhs-mental-health-serenity-integrated-monitoring-1054193

"
What is Serenity Integrated Mentoring?

Serenity Integrated Mentoring, or SIM, has been adopted by 23 NHS mental health trusts in England

It was designed to enable police and A&E services to cope with patients who regularly phone 999 or arrive at hospitals having self-harmed, attempted suicide, or threatened to take their own life. When tagged under the system, patients can be denied care, prevented from seeing doctors or psychiatrists, and sent home.

An NHS doctor told i that he had to turn away a woman who had attempted suicide on multiple occasions because she had been assigned to the SIM scheme.

The way I'm reading this, the identity applies to all of the plurals who make up identities for attention so quickly that they can't keep track of them. They may as well just give up the ghost and make this the plural flag.

Random system-related cringe found earlier - "queergenic" systems (archive), "a term used to describe a system that has headmates that have taken the form of an LGBTQ+ identity. For example, there may be a headmate that is the personified version of catgender, or a headmate that is made to act how an individual would imagine pansexual acting if the sexuality were a person." Etymologically, the word means "[a system] produced by queerness," the -genic suffix evoking the "debate" among fake DID-havers over "traumagenic" vs "endogenic" systems. Guess queergenic is an alternative for those LARPers who really don't give a shit.

bit of a sidebar, but I discovered this while doing an excursion in the LGBTA Wiki (a personal hobby). A user named "cryptocrew" (arch) describes themselves as a queergenic system on their profile. They also apparently created the term "gonadal euphoria" (arch), "the opposite of gonadal sofrimento and is the comfort or joy experienced when one imagines themself with their preffered gonads." Fucking godspeed you incredible deviant.
