It is odd that there has been no push to legalize polygamy in Western nations. If the government has no right to tell people who they can love (the argument for same sex marriage) the government has no right to tell a man that he can love two women.

it's not odd. legalizing polygamy means either 1) allowing more than two people to share in the financial and bureaucratic benefits of marriage, and allowing more than two legal parents or 2) creating a new form of marriage where there are tiers of benefits.

Either option would be massively disruptive in a way homo marriage was not.

I'm not reading that shit but that's a really stupid take. Here are a couple of examples that have nothing to do with wammen:

Spouses can do taxfree property transfers. Everybody else has to pay gift tax. Adding more people in there is a huge deal.

FAFSA is based on household income even if your mom and dad both remarried. Your aid is calculated based on your parents *and stepparents'* income. What happens if your mom and dad can get married to even more people?

Who is next of kin in a polygamous marriage?

Who gets SS benefits after one spouse dies? Splitting it up costs money, it wouldn't just happen automagically.

How does inheritance work now if someone dies intestate?

I just thought of another massive bureaucratic problem with polygamous marriage:

do you need the consent of the other members of the marriage? are you all married in one marriage, or can A be married to B, and B to C, but C and A aren't married to each other?

currently, in most states you can get married without any documents that show your marital status and there is no federal registry of marriage. if polygamous marriage is legal that would have to change.

The modern sexual market place has basically recreated harems for the 20% of chads out there. They don't need to get married at this point.

As much as I don't like Morons, I think it should be legal. The government shouldn't interfere in stuff like that unless it turns abusive.
 
What I see online about polyamory is that it's for ugly people and (if conventionally attractive) mentally ill psychos manipulating each other. Maybe they could be normal people but I don't think it will be the same as a loving relationship with monogamy.
And what's with people thinking Mormons still practicing polyamory when it's been banned a long time ago? I've googled it and it's still banned, at least the Muslims are actually practicing it.

Similar to that story about the guy that was pseudo-catfishing those girls with private jets and supercars and dinners, but it turned out he wasn't the billionaire they all thought, he was using the money from other women to continue to scam more women.

He even hired actors to play his billionaire entourage.

I'm like Jesus, the amount of work he put in you think he could've become an actual billionaire.
 
Its a concequence of the devaluation of marriage itself, we live in a world where premarital sex and adultery are common place outside of groups like the Mormons why would you want to push for polygamy?
 
Polygamy is degeneracy and should be stamped out with hot irons, public floggings and gibetting. All whorecarls to be driven ut. All harlots to be shamed.

legalizing polygamy would mean completely changing what marriage is, in a much more radical way that the homo kind.

Statistically is it better or worse then Gay and lesbian marriage?

Like do they stay together longer? More or less abusive? That kind of thing.

Im fairly certain the whole reason why it isn't promoted compared to gay shit is they want more population control and less kids in the world.
