and the system as it was encourages infighting and petty bullshit. if I'm banning people for negrating or banning people for crying about negrating I AM STILL DEALING WITH MORE BULLSHIT.
That really sucks, but I use the site like that and I have never made a report about stickers. I know you only see the people abusing the report system, but what you're missing is that when you see a feed of the users and their profiles it also encourages a sense of the community for you. Seeing people rate me made me curious about them, go look at their posts and their profiles and go explore threads that they are active in. You don't see any of that though, because who would submit a report for having a good time? You only see the miserable assholes with low impulse control who will be miserable regardless of what you do, and in the mean time you remove fun things for people who are not spazzoids and that want to have fun hanging out with other users or shitpost.

just so we're clear, "everyone" in this instance is like 100 people who use the reaction page to navigate the site. It's not "everyone", it's YOU.

To your first point, there could be a lot of people who do that and aren't posting in this thread about it. I am another person who uses the reaction page to navigate, so I guess count it as 101? It may not be how you want people to use the site, but that is what's going on de facto.

I think your second point is more than fair, but I don't see how it's appropriate to punish everyone else for the actions of problem users. You're going to have to deal with shitty and annoying people no matter what.

Yes it definitely makes more sense to not ban the disruptive faggots once and be done with it, and instead keep constantly fucking with features everyone uses in some weird attempt to prevent the disruptive faggots from being disruptive in the first place.

You're trying to prevent niggers from acting like niggers by instituting gun control

What about Watched Threads notifications, can we have a forum without those? Because the now-absent sticker notifications were compensating for the obnoxious, inaccurate Watch Threads notifications, which can't be turned off.
watched thread notifications can be turned off, though. you just have to 'unwatch' the thread:

threads are automatically added to your 'watched' list when you post in them. if you don't want notifications about a thread that you've posted in, just go to the top of that thread and 'unwatch' it.

for those who may not have noticed, while browsing threads listed in 'watched threads', as well as while browsing 'new posts', or in specific forums, your pfp will appear as a small icon next to any thread in which you've posted. if you hover over the icon of your pfp next to the thread title, it will tell you how many posts you have in that thread:

also, those little dots in front of the thread title are notifications that there are new posts in that thread. if there are no new posts since the last time that you opened the thread, the dot will be hollow:

I mentioned it in the other thread but my ideal alert solution is [ ... ]
Not sure if it's feasible to implement in xenforo though, but that's what would solve my navigation issues.
no sarr, you've done plenty, sarr. thank you, sarr, do not redeem, sarr!

To ban people for being "disruptive faggots" is a lot of work. You try to come up with an exhaustive yet unambiguous definition of "disruptive faggot", that does not take lots of work to adjudicate.

It doesn't have to be exhaustive, it can be as simple as "anyone who complains about stickers enough that Null is forced to intervene". This isn't a Constitutionally protected access zone, it's a gossip forum run on stubbornness and cheese.

Maybe there should be a notice at the top of every page: "DO NOT complain about stickers". Double the font size for new users, and mods can triple the size for first time offending whiners.

Null is free to contradict me here, but I do not see him as a person who has trouble banning people; nor do I think that he abides by rules lawyering. For whatever it's worth to him and the rest of the team, I think most moderator actions on Kiwi Farms are appropriate and fair. The problem is that there are a shitload of active users per day and Null does not want to spend all of his time interacting with the site to moderate or play judge. He is right that making decisions on reaction page/sticker privileges is still more work, not to mention the amount of people who will dispute such moderator action with varying degrees of tact.

I understand why his position is to remove the functionality altogether but, as someone who uses and likes the functionality, I do not want it removed.

Maybe a better middle ground would be to restrict the number of stickers that users can give per diem? If everyone can only updoot or negrate a certain number of times in a given timeframe, and users choose to use those limited stickers to mass negrate people they don't like, it could work as a social pressure. For example: if Joe Schmoe bickers with everyone and only uses his stickers to mass negrate people, and everyone can see that, he's known as a salty prick in the community and people can choose not to care.

Just a suggestion. Probably not a great one because it's still sort of taking stickers more seriously than anyone should.
at the end of the day, it's Null's site, and although we can voice our opinions, he is under no obligation to give a shit.
Believe it or not, I want to try and think of something that makes Null's life easier.
