"Post your Art" Thread

Want to practice my colors more, and i know there's Youtube tutorials and everything out there, but i wanna hear from kiwis in here, feels more "personal", i'd say.



While i like the paled look (gives it an illustrated feeling i really dig), some friends have told me that it's too light on color. I've tried to punch it in more, but it ends up looking awful.

Any tips on how to color properly would be very welcomed! Also some feedback on the pic itself would be greatly appreciated.

Admittedly, this was not done by me, but for the first time I have stared at this picture for more than a few minutes and it made me wish I can draw like this:



It makes me want to get back into drawing again, since I’ve been looking into some figure drawing, as well as drawing with perspective.

...and it was a gigantic bitch to finish! So much so that the comic release had to be delayed. Learned many things, though, such as compensating for bad anatomy with lots of detail and calling it a style. lol.

Kind of hard to give feedback on this one. Colored pencils on paper is definitely not my forte. Would agree that it's light on colour; one thing you may do to make them pop is to use black paper (or darken the background manually).

The pic itself is alright. Hand looks on point, though it's not immediately obvious what pose she's doing. Lines of the face are a little questionable.

Don't be afraid to give more weight to your linework, especially at the bottom of contours (chin, ear lobes, (in this case) knuckles). This way, the drawing comes out less flat.

Still dicking around in smushy paints. I don't think I like the color ones as much but making them is comfy.

On canvas, no less! That is seriously nice-looking. What type of paint is this?

I complimented @snov's icon and he told me how he made it in Bing's Dall-E, so I played with the generator to get other cute drawings and thought this little girl with a kiwi plush was a perfect little coloring page. She just came out so cute!!

@Shlomo Shekelstein XL Aw, thanks. It's just Liquitex Basic acrylics with a bit of GAC pearl medium. That actually means a lot, especially from someone here. I had a little bit of fine arts training but dropped when it became apparent that I would have to move out of flyover country if I wanted an actual career in art restoration, then I just kind of stopped painting for like fifteen years because there was other shit to do. If someone had told me back then that I'd be one of those "lazy abstract people" later I would have been offended, but I'm happy just enjoying the process now that I'm not putting a lot of value on the result.

Here are a few more of the 8" ones. Ignore the creased tablecloth, I was in the process of trying to decide what to do with them and about to set up a Christmas display.
