Good post, but even more imperative than this is to never, ever share your true circumcision status online. Assuming you are American, 60% of boys in your probable age bracket (18-30) are circumcised, making it close to a coin flip chance. In addition circumcision is far from a uniform procedure. There are four common varieties of the surgery: high and tight (preferred in Jewish and Islamic customs; excises as much of the skin as possible and causes the stereotypical two-toned look), high and loose, low and tight, and low and loose (circumcisions performed for medical reasons are usually of this type because it is considered less invasive than the others). Not all circumcisions are created equal, and so these different types are very disparate in their impact on the sensitivity of the penis and extent of retention of gliding action. If there does happen to be another person with your name born in the same year, the chance of them not only also being either circumcised or uncircumcised, but actually having had the same type of circumcision performed is very, very low. These types can be visually distinguished by a careful observer, so just by knowing this information somebody whom you have formed an online sexual relationship with on this forum can find you and ruin your life even if they don't have your name or DOB.[Sep 28, 2017 at 12:31 AM] @zedkissed60: public service reminder: please don't share your dob
I was born on December 19th, 1992. According to our census data, there were approximately 4,084,000 live births in 1992, or 11,189 per day. A lot of those stupid babies died, so the actual effective number is less than that. Divide that up by the birth rate of the 50 states and you've got a mean 223 people per day per state. I'm likely the only Joshua born in my state on December 19th, 1992 and the only Joshua Moon born in 1992 in the entire country. If not, please let me know so I can assume his identity.
That's literally all it takes. The more unique your name is, the narrower the search is. The older you are, the lower the number of people born the same year as you becomes.
This of course goes doubly so if you are circumcised from a country such as most European nations where it is widely viewed as a barbaric practice. It is very probable that if you were snipped at birth, you were only one of several thousand babies who were circumcised in the country in that year. The majority of those children would be born devout Jewish or Muslim. Therefore a prospective doxer might be able to look at registries, for example, of families affiliated with this or that synagogue, or children of rabbis, and then find you and kill you.
Most dangerous of all is if you reveal that you, in fact, do not have a penis at all, but I don't think any of our users need to be concerned about this potential information slip both occurring and being true.
