I want to know if in general, when you think about past memories, specially from places you've been to, you not only recall that visually, but also with other senses, and if so, to which degree. Furthermore, if when you imagine scenarios/locations or even see artwork on the Internet, even if not real, you do this as well.

For example, when I think of a fantasy land (let's put an endless grassland as an example), it's usually only limited to a visual representation in my mind (the place on a bright day), and maybe sounds too (the birds and wind over the grass), but I generally don't employ how the other senses would be affected if I was there, like how it would smell due to the plants, or how it would feel with the cold wind through my body. I can of course, but it's usually not instinctive for most cases, or at least not to a high degree.

Needless to say that the lack of use of other senses' experience is more prominent for thoughts of scenarios that have not happened, so while I recall intensely the smell of the beach when I went there in the past, I do not consciously put the effort of doing so when seeing artwork or it. And that is something I am changing, so that way every instance of imagination is more vivid, real, intense and enjoyable.

I wonder if it also serves as a mental training of some sort, if you put greater focus on generating a greater degree of qualia while not losing attention to your IRL surroundings. It is of course great if you're laying in bed and trying to come up with a nice imaginary place before sleeping, sounds fun and might increase your creativity while doing so.

for me its this with brutalist architecture, my brain like the monolithic symetrical design of them, i when i picture it in my head it ends up being an amalgam of different ones i have seen throughout my life

I do not generally have smell or taste in my memories, unless I guess if it's a food memory? I guess my memory is only as detailed as it specifically needs to be. I can remember vividly things like how an ex-girlfriend felt soft to touch or how my dog (put down about a year ago) smelled like black/sweet tea leaves.
