They clearly made a new mold for them and it's somehow even lower quality than the last one. Hey, at least they're getting the eyes right now though!
Personally 'm waiting for that guy found that occasionally vanishes from etsy to show up again with the "sonichu spread em" pins. Every time I remember the dude exsts he's fucking gone from the face of the earth. Physical media shitposts you can get off people are something I never stop enjoying.

There's not much that's original about anything in Sonichu. The characters don't even really have personalities that you can tell apart. It's just "yellow Sonic recolor with a tail" and "purple Sonic recolor with a tail and vest" or "red Sonic recolor with a tail and Knuckles hands". Personality-wise, they all pretty much act and talk the same: they all act and talk like Chris.

He clearly tried a little to make them unique characters at the start but it devolved overtime and now you have chris larping out fucked up shit, saying magi-chan is in a polyamorous relationshp with his own fucking adopitve father Mewtwo and himself. People were kinda more fond of magi-chan back n the day because even with him being the chris shizobabble exposition machine he had a little bit of a character to him where he was just frustrated with everyone's bullshit but also an unintentional creep that'd like spy on people psychically. Much like old chris would never fuck his mom, old Magi-chan would never fuck his adoptive dad. That's like the closest parallel you can draw between the two of them.

So they're not even bothering to sculpt them anymore to Chris's specifications. They're just shoving Crayola fuckin' Model Magic into a mold without even bothering to trim the edges. Whoever is making these is even lazier than Chris.

It used to take him half an hour just to sculpt a medallion, not even counting for painting, or clay and glue hardening time etc.

I followed the tutorial to make customs last year and the first attempt took an hour to press all the pieces into the template shapes accurately. it's fiddly stuff!

The new ones are cookie stamped and dipped in yellow paint in 5 minutes. People spending $85 on them are beyond fools.

There's a guy who's been mass producing medallions in his house with a 3d printer for a while and they look like chris' OG ebay run of medallions which were noticeably higher effort than both the original few sonichu medallions and infinitely higher effort than Praetor's "official" ones. I think I brought this up before but I've been tempted to get one of those replicas for a while now ever since I saw them to go with the pretty decent sonichu plushie I got off another guy for $30. All the aesthetic with none of the gypsy curse, seems like a boon over all.

There's one plan I thought of, well, not I, one of the people that helps me out with research, but it involves Catboy Ranch...

The thing is, Chris is pretty active in there, as evidenced by several bots in there. He also has two accounts there. It was suggested to me to either get someone to take some DM's of his messages there or get a dollar and donate to Keffals for access...
Now, I have no clue which is more realistic and, frankly, I feel disgusted by the thought of having to donate to Keffals...but is there any better option?

Newfriends also need to keep in mind that Chris has gone through significant dry spells even before his stint in jail. Before the Blarms pepper spray incident there was almost a two-year period of nothing going on but the occasional Facebook update. Even when the Catherine stuff got leaked it was only over a period of a month or so, iirc.
It's fine to sit back and observe. If you want funny Chris moments, revisit the CWCki. There are thousands of articles to laugh at. Don't poke the cow, and for GodBear's sake read the rules at the bottom of the page.
