Containment Random Chris Updates

"we're living off of Canned Food and Powdered tard cum" sounds like it's a dwindling resource. Like he's saying that they're approaching starvation.
I'm not disagreeing that times might be "tough" for the Chandlers. Not having meat every meal might be tough for them... but it's not starvation. "Living off canned food" can mean anything with Chris. He could literally have 100 cans of food and five cases of powdered m.ilk and his statement of "we only have canned food and powdered m.ilk" would be accurate.

Chris exaggerates and will outright fib when it suits him. I could give you examples but you'd either tell me I don't have the "real story" or you'd brush it off as "but this time.....".

I would only tell you that you don't have the real story if you don't have the real story. And when I cite counterexamples, it's because the popular narrative is very warped. Not just slightly warped.

They might have a lot of canned food. I think it'd be more likely they'd have a decent stock of it before six months ago. In the past six months, depending on how bad things were, they genuinely might've exhausted a lot of their stock. I wouldn't dismiss it outright.

Yeah, slight :powerlevel:, but I worked for a few years sorting out emergency living expenses loans for people on benefits. Usual mix of chancers and obvious druggies looking for some quick easy heroin/booze money with a majority of folks who genuinely needed some help to tide them over. We were instructed to question them carefully to find out just how badly they were off - if they had decent stocks of canned food, dried milk, pasta, rice, that sort of thing, we were advised to take it into account and see how long they reckoned it' d last. The point being that, to quote Crocodile Dundee, this stuff tastes like shit, but you can live on it. If Chris had half-decent stocks of canned/dried stuff and applied for such a loan over here, he'd be told that he doesn't need fillet steak, or even mince, and pointed in the direction of the nearest food bank. Although he might get help towards his fuel costs.

I believe you, it's lies. It may not be malicious, but they are liars and scam artists. Aside from knowing that they are liars, their entitled attitudes prove it.

And you're an asshole.

With the exception of a few folks that Chris trusts, nobody knows the truth depth of his current financial situation.

When he says their stock is low, it is. Their funds took a hard hit recently and they're having extreme difficulty recovering from it.

I want to hear him explain how they lost so much money so fast. I can see them getting screwed over by a con but which one? The Windows technical support phone con? The change your gas and electric to us con? Their predatory mortgage company? Some slag promising Chris access to china for some cash? Barb watching home shopping? Chris cleaning out a closing TRU of legos?

I'd really like to know how much they consume a month in regards to food, and exactly what those meals consist of.

You can really stretch your food budget, and if you use coupons, specials and look for the day-old clearance items you can eat for a month for less than 90$, though I doubt fatty could handle expending his precious fuck-all time to actually shop around and cook.

Not to mention stooping so low as to eat like a common peasant.

Or let's just send Suze Orman to Chris' house. Chris loves lesbians.

Well he could use Pollo as meat
Everyone will flip when it is leaked that Chris attempted to sell Pollo to some local Korean BBQ places.

Your post here is a great example of why you do need to see the transaction history. The big expenditures you're mentioning in this post frequently does go to necessities like the mortgage.

No one needs to see his transaction. However, the fact they're still so far behind in the mortgage - despite the generous donations from well meaning fans (or weens) - means that a good portion of the funds he gets isn't going where it needs to go.

What's a good portion? I think many people believe it's in excess of 30%. If I'm misreading people, and few people actually believe it's that high, then nevermind.

Like in the post I quoted, "We've also seen idiots donate in excess of up to $1,000-$2,000 in some cases, and Chris immeadiatly goes out to spend it, he doesn't even make attempts to keep some of it."

If Chris had to pay the mortgage, then it's ridiculous to talk about how Chris should try to save the money. He can't save it, he'd be homeless.

It's silly comments like that that I'm challenging. In that case, then yes, specific knowledge of the transaction is necessary to tell whether or not Chris is being a dipshit with that donation.

His whole post is a bunch of speculation, without knowing what Chris is going through right now.

Chris is in some deep shit right now. He's prostituting himself because of a serious financial need. I'm talking loan sharks or scammers or something like that.

When Chris gets panicky about finances I assume a lot of the time he's channeling Barb's anxiety. That is, while I don't know the actual financial situation, I get the sense that Chris's feelings about it are often cue-taking from Barb. I don't think we can evaluate the money situation based solely on how freaked out Chris sounds. Chris probably keeps a budget, but I think when it comes to big issues like the mortgage and car loans he doesn't know anything about them and relies on Barb to tell him how bad things are. And I don't think her emotions are grounded in reality either.

Wasn't everyone speculating this would happen at some point a few years ago?

What-- what happened?

I think the problem is that it feels like Chris is basically always in financial dire straits, and when he isn't it feels like he blows his money on stupid shit instead of saving it and paying his own bills instead of begging. I'm not saying that's how it is (because I don't know, tbh), but that's how it feels.

Also, what exactly is Chris "going through right now"? Debt from financial irresponsibility? That would be unsurprising if so.

Not sure the specifics, I'm sure the specifics will come out eventually.

It's tricky because Chris is a giant baby who can't stand minor discomfort. But if Chris really does get scammed, no one will be able to tell the difference between his usual blubbering and actual abuse.

Like people used to joke that when Barb died, Chris might trade 14BC for magic beans. With the level of control Idea Guy 1.0 had over him, that's something that legit might happen. Or maybe the next Idea Guy would convince Chris that Sonchu is a magic flying car and get Chris to drive it into a lake.

There's nothing that isn't out of reach for Idea Guy.

I would imagine that no one would be dumb enough to attempt defraud a notorious internet celebrity like Chris, if only because there'd be more eyes watching. You think they'd stick to ripping off little old ladies or something.

But there was that dutch couple who tried to scam DSP, so I guess people are dumber than I thought.

Chris should try to save the money. He can't save it, he'd be homeless.
And this is where I’m lost. I haven’t seen anyone say “Chris should save the money and not pay bills”

People say he should save the money instead of buy $$$ worth of LEGO. He should save and not spend $300 on a bronycon pass. He should save instead of spending it on frivolous means.

So if Chris sees he somehow has $250 at the end of the month ... maybe save it for next month when it’s bound to get tight. He doesn’t need 250 bucks worth of LEGO and/or video games.

I think that’s what people mean. Not that Chris should pay bills.

Granted, I also think many of us don’t give a fuck what he spends his money on. Most of us don’t give Chris money so he can do what he wants.
