Containment Random Chris Updates

And this is where I’m lost. I haven’t seen anyone say “Chris should save the money and not pay bills”

People say he should save the money instead of buy $$$ worth of LEGO. He should save and not spend $300 on a bronycon pass. He should save instead of spending it on frivolous means.

So if Chris sees he somehow has $250 at the end of the month ... maybe save it for next month when it’s bound to get tight. He doesn’t need 250 bucks worth of LEGO and/or video games.

I think that’s what people mean. Not that Chris should pay bills.

Granted, I also think many of us don’t give a fuck what he spends his money on. Most of us don’t give Chris money so he can do what he wants.
No, I think that people think it's much much more than $250 on legos. I think people think that Chris gets $1000 from random weens on ebay, and that $750 of it goes to toys.

Chris is in some deep shit right now. He's prostituting himself because of a serious financial need. I'm talking loan sharks or scammers or something like that.

It’s in the realm of possibility. If Chris can fall for someone posing as a citizen of CWCville, he definitely can fall for the scammer who poses as an Apple representative who needs to verify the credit card they have on file. He might’ve lost some money to one of those scam calls, or Barb did, and failed to follow through on recourse to get the money back out of defeatism.

What also might’ve happened is the payday loan thing, since Chris likes to live outside of his means. Every meal is from a restaurant, he shops for entertainment, and he buys expensive junk like Sephora cosmetics. Chris is a money shuffler, trying to spend as much as possible for maximum result. He digs debt holes like a backyard mutt.

It’s also really easy to skip a bill one month. Some people find it exhilarating to spend their bill money on other shit and deal with the consequences later. Most just fucking forget and panic when they get a notice of service cutoff or foreclosure.

I would imagine that no one would be dumb enough to attempt defraud a notorious internet celebrity like Chris, if only because there'd be more eyes watching. You think they'd stick to ripping off little old ladies or something.

But there was that dutch couple who tried to scam DSP, so I guess people are dumber than I thought.
I always like to cite the Elmore Leonard theory on Criminals: That they're all stupid, because if they weren't, then they wouldn't be breaking the law in the 1st place.

If people think that, it's because Chris has given them reason to. A few people seem to think that because Chris spent $1500 on Lego in a month (several months ago), he does it every month.

What we have seen, and there's Chris's ebay purchases to prove it, is Chris saying shit like 'Omg we need money right now guys. Right now! Buy my stuff. Send donations here" and then the same day a big load comes in, Chris is buying $75 lego here and $50 lego there and then some weird video game over yonder. And THEN to top it off, we see shit like Barb getting found on default for some $$$ credit card bills; or them skipping a mortgage... and it's like "Chris, you had just gotten $$$$, what'd you do with it??"

You may know a lot more than most people on this site by pure experience, but from where most stand, Chris spends his money poorly. He cannot seem to keep a savings going. And we see his childish toys pile growing and growing every video he makes.

Like I said, I'm not saying Chris doesn't have it rough now; something obviously went down. But it's honestly his own fault if people give him shit for mismanaging his own money.

Chris is bad at managing money, there's no doubt about that. It's more in the sense of 1. Never having an emergency fund and 2. Not budgeting for the second half of the month. Chris' saving grace is that his and Barb's money comes in at the beginning of the month, when the mortgage is due. I imagine their other bills get paid around that time too. So Chris pays his portion at the beginning of the month, and lets say he has $300 left over. He thinks, "I have $300 to spend on fun things!" and completely disregards the rest of the month's expenses like food and gas. There have been a handful of times where it seemed they got behind on an electric bill or mortgage payment. I have a feeling that's more on Barb wasting the money on useless shit then shrieks at Chris that he needs to somehow make more money.

I totally agree, however I think marketing plays a big part in that perception as well. That is, it's not 100% Chris' behavior. Maybe 50% Chris' behavior (boy who cried wolf, in regards to him needing money) and 50% how we portray Chris' financial situation.

It's not like Chris usually actively broadcasts his shitty purchases. We go digging them up. No one's digging through Chris' trash to find all of the responsible bills he's paid. (And I'm not saying there are many of them, just that we have a specific bias in what we search for.)

No one wants to hear about the time when Chris didn't shit his pants.

Whether the Chandlers fault or some external influence, I'm still fuzzy on how things went from "I NEED LOTS OF MONEY RIGHT NOOOW FOR BILLS EVERYONE!" to "everything's fine, WTF stop asking about it everyone!" in like 36 hours.

Because something big did happen. We aren't entirely sure what it is, but apparently some individuals on the Farms know and aren't sharing yet.

So far the theories are that either Chris is getting scammed, got scammed, or just fucked up financially.

I'm leaning towards got scammed and then also fucked up financially. Chris probably got fucked out of some money by some trolling individual, then he bought himself a new mattress or something (@Marvin mentioned it), they had to do a late payment on one thing and two payments on the house; plus normal bills, credit card interests, and just other big bills. Seems like most of the bills are staggered around a bit, but this month they just all piled into one another.

So Chris was really concerned about money. Wouldn't be surprised if they actually did think they'd lose the house. Chris was offered a fully Bronycon package, he took it, but instead of spending the money on Bronycon, he spent it on bills. So good on him for that. But then he went and bought the $300 bronycon package and lost out on some food money.

To top it off, he lost not one but both of his cats this month. Just been one of those months for the Chandlers.

The "stop asking about it" is probably in regards to the shit that went down that we aren't told about....can't imagine Chris wouldn't want to out a scammer, but maybe it's still going on?

It was mildly fucked up that Chris was posting pictures of a dying cat to advertise his digital tin cup.

It's exceptionally fucked up he waited til the evening before Hades showed up. Even if he sold the phone, there was no way Chris was going to schedule and carry out euthanasia with a few hours notice on a Sunday.

Oh I don't doubt any of that, I truly think he was broke, what I mean was, how did he pay off two months of mortgage just a day or so after saying he had no way to pay it.

Another fairy godween? Did he recoup his money? I don't recall any big ticket sales items going out.

Maybe the bronycon money? Not sure. Maybe someone did buy something from eBay. Or maybe someone like Kengle donated.

We may never know. Lately anyone who admits to donating gets shit on and their own mini thread so they’re keeping quiet if they did help Chris out.

I take issue with calling it help, technically, the only people who have helped Chris or have tried to help him are Greene Elementary and Rocky.

To be fair, lately anyone who's been giving him money has also had some fucked up plans in store for him too. Like it's an investment on some new epic saga they get to orchestrate.

It's EPIK WEEN when someone has Chris say inside jokes on Youtube or wants to interview them for their shitty Youtube channel!
