Messages from Facebookland: I have it on good authority from transfolk in the Portland area that transmen are hated there, particularly by transwomen and queer-identifed DFABs, to the point of being harassed by them Transmen are viewed as using male privilege to benefit from society's binary concept of gender. (That's the Cliff Notes version, anyway.) And I'm pretty sure the main body of lesbian community hates them too, but I have no one to ask.

The hypocrisy coming from them pisses me off so much. Guess what assholes? You guys were born male, so you were born with or at least experienced "male privilege" at one point. I don't get how they can be so nasty and hateful towards someone who's going the same thing you went through, just with the gender part reversed. Shit like this really makes me hate people sometimes.

Gee, I never knew you had to look like a total freak to be a TRUE and HONEST gay person. It's weird how Tumblrinas are now explicitly against the idea that gay people are normal people like everyone else. Oh, horseshoe theory, you old devil, you!

It's just like when Tumblr suddenly turned against Caitlyn Jenner after finding out that she leans to the right politically. Actually, transwomen were born women because sex is a social construct built on the cis-centric view that sex-linked phenotypes are binary, and you are a bigot if you don't accept that penises can be female, because a person's identity is innate and not a social construct. If you do not think this way, but are trans, you have internalized transphobia.

Also everyone knows that transmen aren't really real, especially the ones who hate their DFAB bodies, because body-hate is always caused by internalized sexism. FtM medical transition is giving in to the patriarchy, you coward/traitor/dupe.

I feel I really should link citations in this post. My favorite was the one that said if a transman didn't accept his vagina as male it meant he wasn't really trans.

They probably assume Sherlock is autistic and therefore perfect. Granted the character probably is autistic to some degree, but he's still an ass.

Johnlock shipping probably has something to do with it, too. I think any show with good opportunities for MxM shipping is bound to be popular on tumblr.

Just because someone likes things that go against their traditional gender roles does not necessarily mean that they are trans/non-binary/genderfluid. It's possible, but gender non-conforming does not automatically make someone trans, non-binary, or genderfluid. It's pretty damn sexist to think that to be honest.

haha holy fuck. i have issues passing almost constantly. sure, i got the eyebrows and hair but i have a really girly face and a really girly voice. my girlfriend happens to be a tranny too and she has a much easier time with passing.

Also coming from experience (as someone who worked at Macy's during the holiday season for 3 years in a row), Macy's does require you to dress formal but they really don't give a shit where you get your clothes from, as long as you follow the dress policy and put effort into your appearance. In fact, a lot of the clothes I got for the job were from Kohl's. You know, high end fashion. But seriously. They're not asking you to wear nice Armani suits to work everyday.
