The older atheist youtubers that used to exist weren't as focused on left-wing politics, yeah, even if they themselves were almost universally leftists. The current crop of atheist youtubers are all progressives and tie their atheism into bog-standard woke causes. Atheism+, while a failure, won out in spirit in the end.

The whole Atheism+ kerfuffle also helped that because a lot of the big-A Atheists were unwilling to just become thralls of other wannabes who desire to control the public narratives. It's why they became a popular target to bash on SJW groups.

With most of Sargons types their's a fundemental lack intellectual rigor so they inevitably stray to religion or political radicalism when they have to think on it. Basically this. I used to follow that debate when it was relevant, the focus was mostly poking fun at dumb bumbleheads like Kem Ham. After the earliest 2010 had been reduced to an untenable laughing stock so rationalwiki and atheist youtubers switched to churning out politsperg/sjw or euphoric content, ironically turning themselves too into a joke.

It's almost like the only reason most of these midwits and lowwits looked funny and smart was because they were beating up the lowest bar possible. Any bumbo with basic google fu can dunk on a creationist. I call this the Sargon Effect, in honor of Carl of Applebee's decision to just dunk on SJWs because of similar reasons.

If i had to give them credit for something though, they used to operate in a time when google searches were quite polluted by creationist content and it's also their merit if this trend was reversed. Thing is, RatWiki and youtube atheists have abundantly overstayed their welcome.

I discovered yesterday that one of the mods lied about being harassed and is now going to get another editor banned. If it wasn't for one guy hassling the hell out of everyone this would've never been known, but the editor is still getting banned since nobody changed their vote.
