Considering this shit has been verboten for a while now, even as an elephant in the room, I'd argue the opposite. The Redditor also prefaces the 3rd sentence saying, "Please don't swallow this lightly...", saying, obviously, that this is heavy shit.

I don't know how you interpreted it, but I saw what he said as "People are uncomfortable with this shit because they have a feeling it's fucked up".

You'd be surprised at how the wrong people in the right place can make all the difference. A lot of the world's perception of America comes from Hollywood, and Hollywood is typically self-referentially hateful of itself or anything considered the norm outside of California. Europe had BLM protests despite there being far fewer blacks, unarmed cops and mandatory bodycams; the UK's were especially bizarre considering the nation's role in ending slavery worldwide. I agree though it is retarded. It's not a gay-exclusive issue either, we're posting in a thread cataloguing retards who've defined their whole identity and mindset through the astroturfing of certain posts, literal AI slop, lies, and just wanting to "fit in".

Under half of all homosexuals have been molested as children and and 40% have been raped and feel like they can't speak out about it. It'd either insinuate that's what made them gay to begin with (giving credence to anti-gays) or because its considered "normal" (since a lot of it is carried out by older men). It's to gays what non-compliance is to blacks.

Wanted to add to this childhood sexual trauma is highly correlated with hyper-sexuality later in life which is extremely common in gay men.
 
Found another example of how clueless Redditors are: Read the comments to this /r/BestofRedditorUpdates post about a father who installed a keylogger on his son's computer.

TL;DR to the story: OP installed a keylogger on his son’s laptop years ago for safety reasons but never used it. However, he had never bothered to remove it either. His niece overheard him telling his sister about it and was outraged, calling it an invasion of privacy. After reading Reddit's feedback, the dad confessed to his now-17 year old son, who took it well and appreciated the honesty. They removed the keylogger together.

The thread comments are largely supportive of the dad and agree that he wasn't an asshole for being concerned about his son's safety when he was younger. I don't disagree with that assessment. The basic ethics of what OP was doing (wanting to monitor his son for his safety when he was 12, and removing the limits when he was older) were solid.

But out of the hundreds of posters, I would estimate less than five of them noticed the actual issue: Putting a keylogger on a computer is an inherent security risk. If whatever software he was using had known backdoors or vulnerabilities, or if its vendors' servers had experienced a data breach (and companies flogging keylogger software are frequent flyers on HaveIBeenPwned), all of his son's sensitive data would have been exposed to an attacker. You're also trusting the vendors of the software to not be scumbags and misuse the data you have given them access to themselves.

That isn't a minor point. This kind of software doesn’t just sit harmlessly in the background if it's not being used, it creates a persistent attack surface.

I found myself stunned that barely anyone in the thread seemed to have noticed this. Is what I'm pointing out here arcane knowledge? Or are Redditors really that stupid?

The mormon wives show is such a great showcase of how retarded the loophole shit is when taken to the absolute extreme. Oh God hates vanity? Well that’s fine and we’re compliant because we only wear certain things even though we spend hours preening daily. The Bible discourages the use of alcohol? Perfect, in that case we’ll only do ketamine “therapy” since that isn’t expressly forbidden. I thought the whole thing was fake and gay until I saw them all seeking out literal nitrous (during botox treatments) and ket (specialized therapy) on purpose since they're not allowed to drink.

Pretty disgusting they are taking away therapy seats from people with severe treatment resistant PTSD, OCD, schizophrenia, Bipolar, chronic pain syndromes, suicidal people, etc because they are bored.
 
Im on laptop right now but i want to continue to talk about the shoplifting fuckery that reddit has been enabling outside of the antifa and drug shit and casual reverse bigotry issues they have been doing lately grooming people into their own terroist cells.

This one is of a more small time petty nature certainly but still an issue nontheless as there is people here that work in retail and i feel bad for retail workers putting up with this shit from preditors.

There was also Tumblr users that would show off their stolen goods too, and back when KF had a Tumblr section, there was a Shoplifter thread for them.
 
If shoplifters can't produce proof of children they are struggling to feed, they should be maimed. If they can, then branded. And litterers should have to remove their digits one by one Yakuza style and present them to the local authorities as penance until they learn. We live in a society, start having standards. I shouldn't have to page a fucking store associate to unlock the SOCKS cabinet like it was top shelf booze because of niggers both spiritually and actually. NIGGER I JUST WANT SOCKS!
