@AnOminous Yeah. I get that bootleg recordings used to be a thing. But in today's world, I cannot imagine that anyone would get a bootleg recording and not purchase the quality versions of the music.

To me it looks like free advertisement. And based off of the Grateful dead's success, free advertisement works.

Maybe if they were going full Taylor Swift or Madonna and were recording their shows to do a Cinema run I could understand.

Hell, since there is some level of interest in recordings of popular band's specific shows, why don't bands just record this stuff and sell it themselves?

On the flip side, when it comes to spectacle bands who do some major impressive costly visual feasts, they may not want to ruin the surprise for the future shows of their tour. Or maybe they don't want to be caught out by making the same lame disingenuous jokes to different audiences over and over again.

"Trust me bro im gonna be the next Tarantino" NOPE
Oh man, I wanted to read more from this guy but he's been banned and I can't find his script. Tears in rain etc.

So I’ve written some movie scripts before and they’ve been well received. They were all pretty much Zucker Brothers styled spoof flicks.
Then, I soon rediscovered my love for Spitting Image. And frankly, it’s the best piece of fiction ever. It’s magical, it’s satirical, it’s hilarious. Every other political satire or satire in general pales in comparison.
Frankly, you Yanks don’t give it enough credit. All you say is “Oh it looks like Genesis video!” Yes, put fucking two and two together moron. They’re obviously made by the same guys.
Anyway, Spitting Image is much bigger than you yanks might think. It got three spiritual successors (2DTV, Headcases and Newzoids) along with an Australian version, a Russian version, two German versions, an American version, Spanish version and a French version which ran for 18 series soon got it’s own American show inspired by it.
The thing is, none of these were official spinoffs or remakes. They’re all spiritual successors. So I wanted to have my own shot at writing it.
I’ve written 6 drafts already. Everyone has hated it, they’ve insulted the premise, said it’s not funny and frankly, I agree. It’s not good and there’s also a zero percent chance it’s gonna get made.
I have been currently trying to learn how to the Spitting Image puppets. I’ve already drawn a few concept designs so I suppose it get help.
I’ve also come up with the idea to take a bigger focus on the entrainment industry with the politicians being replaced by the CEOs.
So, I decided I’d abandon the project and write something new. It’s been 4 months and I haven’t done shit. People tell me “Oh why do you keep posting to Reddit rather than write” because I can’t.
But people keep telling me to just abandon it but I can’t. And I don’t know why.
I try to write but my brain only wants to write the pilot and I don’t want to write the pilot so I don’t write anything.
This project has been the death of it. It’s emotionally attracted themselves to me, well now I’m done.
I’m not a good filmmaker, I suppose.

This will blow up in Reddit's face. The only reason why jannies do their job is that they get paid in the form of power over others. When you remove that from them, they'll have no incentive to actually work.
You're fucking retarded. Reddit moderators get free shit all the time, if you mod a big gaming sub companies will literally give you free high end laptops with their games installed on it. Total Biscuit before he died of ass cancer spoke about it. Reddit mods have a lot of power to influence whats in the front page of google. Keeping them bribed with event access and merchandise keeps them gunt guarding you from antis. They are not going to give up their persona "I am a Reddit super mod, saving the internet from nazis" or the free shit they get. They will just set up alts and use VMs and VPNs to hide who they are.

You have to be retarded or ignorant on the workings of modern viral marketing to think Reddit mods are just fat retards sitting in their basement doing nothing. They are all either hired by or directly in contact with the companies and brands they're involved with. Even Hollywood has it's fingers in Reddit mods. Did the Epstein reveals not teach you anything? Powerful people are Reddit super mods. The basement dwellers quickly get weeded out by politics for those willing to take bribes and look the other way.

All they do is fuck the place up. Fuck them and their "work." Reddit might actually be a decent place if the "power mods" fucked off and preferably died. They could easily be replaced by jeets or AI.

You can tell that he lives in a sad basement and hardly leaves. He's so pale and ugly he could be taken for an Englishwoman.

Edit: I'll be heading out. I'm finishing my coursework today/tomorrow before buying a tent off amazon with a credit card. Won't be paying that off, for obvious reasons. Turning my phone number off tomorrow. Thank you, guys. I'm heading off to a lifetime of despair, loneliness and destitution.

You have 3 years worth of money before it runs out, so you choose to go to college and somehow

FAIL to find anyone willing to employ him
FAIL to make a single connection at who's house he could crash for a while if things went south
FAIL to learn how to hustle independently whether it's some shitty freelance job or something illegal

I've met completely brainfried homeless tweakers who were smarter than this guy.

Anybody with a brain would've known job prospects for computer science aren't looking good, even back in 22 and 23

I can't speak for the rest of reddit, but there's a small subreddit dedicated to a mobile gacha game I used to play where the jannies used to receive gifts from the company from time to time. I'm talking about toys and collectibles, stuff like that. It always seemed strange why they'd do it, but I guess it makes sense now.

I also participated in one of their drawing contests and won a Nendoroid and other stuff. Pretty cool.

Why would a band care if people recorded their experience being there, or took photos?

I understand comedians not wanting the audience to spoil their whole set for future audiences. But when it comes to bands and music, the experience of being there is what is being sold.
idk I dont think they care about recordings really. But at some point bands started getting offended over people in the crowds just recording everything so youd get people holding up their camera to record, maybe it was other audience members posting about it being rude behavior, it might block other peoples view or some shit. It is kind of main character energy but so is bitching about it, I guess the actual band has the right to though. I could imagine it being a little disrespectful to the guy playing music to look out into the crowd and people arent dancing or listening but just on their phones recording--being a performer going up on stage and you look out and the crowd is kinda ignoring you or not as into it, thats prolly gotta suck a little bit.

Some bands made a stupid big deal about it, and now they do it I guess to signal something like 'the kids arent alright maaaaan, they need to get off their phones!!!! youre touching grass at a concert you need to touch grass!!!!!!'

I was gonna go to a Jack White/White Stripes show in 21/22 but they had some thing where they dont let you bring a phone in at all, they give you a little bag to put it in or something where only they can unlock it and if you unlock it they treat it like leaving the stage area and wont let you back in. I ended up not going because I was thinking the TSA was less neurotic. I think the venue pushed it as some Covid thing but the band pushed it as them wanting you to be 'in the moment and present at the show, take only memories (and buy merch)'.

I dont know if they do it anymore but some bands made it a signaling thing. Ive heard of other musicians bitching about 'get off your phones!', I think they usually get a little heat for it though.

I couldn't imagine moderating one subreddit with 100k+ weekly visitors. That's gotta be like moderating the entire KF by yourself. Moderating MORE THAN FIVE subreddits with 100k+ weekly views though? Obviously, he doesn't have time to move out or get a job. I don't know how he has time to even sleep.

Do you think that if the Trannymenian Jannycide motivates him to get a job, he would immediately be promoted to restaurant manager and become the real life Gus Fring? Or are some people are cursed with antiproductivity and the restaurant would serve antiburgers and have antimatter chairs?

Most of reddit is bots or lurkers, comments and posts per day would be a more honest metric.
