reddit General

Anyway, Spitting Image is much bigger than you yanks might think. It got three spiritual successors (2DTV, Headcases and Newzoids) along with an Australian version, a Russian version, two German versions, an American version, Spanish version and a French version which ran for 18 series soon got it’s own American show inspired by it. The thing is, none of these were official spinoffs or remakes. They’re all spiritual successors. So I wanted to have my own shot at writing it.
Most people under 45 in the UK have most likely never watched Spitting Image before. The show was eventually cancelled in the mid 90s because it became irrelevant and unfunny. The 2020 revival didn't do well since the humour and topics covered in the series are dated and don't sit well with today's audiences. Yes, the show did have international versions and spinoffs in countries like Japan and Spain but they weren't very successful either. You can't blame the "Yanks" for not being familiar with some old outdated show that wasn't even aired in the US or part of their pop culture in the 80s.

Spitting Image was pretty solid in the '80s. They even did a Phil Collins video ("Land of Confusion").

Some positive reddit for a change

Despite what you may initially think, the vast majority of the replies in this thread just outright say that sometimes the kid really is the problem and the system keeps them in the loop.

I think I owe r/teachers an apology, I didn't think they were this open about how shitty the education system has become.
Was a black girl from how she's described. And this is common but none of them can say the elephant in the room.

Under 35. Spitting image was still popular in the early 90s and parents would still watch it. It also had re-runs showing in the classic comedy channel UK Gold for many years after it was canceled. So the kids from the 90s would turn on to see Bottom and catch Spitting image as well. The UK has a weird thing where our classic comedy never really goes away, it just moves to UK Gold and keeps repeating.

I was an adjacent to the education system some time ago and i will say that the parents are also a big part of the problem.
The little niglets are honestly not at fault. Their parents are pushing a certain value system on them and the school system can't do much to contradict that. You have to start changing the values and culture of a populatuon if you want results but that's hecking wrong and culture must be preserved including cannibalism or whatever.

You're a nigger aren't you? Niggers are at fault for their actions. No matter the age, no matter the culture. Don't be a nigger.

Not even nig kids, most children behave like coked up baboons and parents consent their retarded behaviour. Once the bus wrangler punished a kid because he called her "fucking bitch" (he was 10) and the mother fucked with the bus company i worked with just to mess with her.

There is also the sudden influx of "He has the tism". No joke, a lot of parents will let their kids behave like savages under the pretense they have autism.

The bar to autism diagnosis is so low these days just spending time on your phone is enough to do it. I bursted out laughing and told my cousin to fuck off when she said her perfectly normal son had autism.

I'm not American. Where I grew up, we didn't even gave niggers. They were like exotic animals you saw on holiday. I was always of the impression that their culture caused their behavior.

Not even the cellphone stuff or anything. Cellphones are already a problem, even among elementary kids. But a lot of kids behave like poorly trained animals and their parents go above and beyond to excuse their behaviour saying they have autism.

For a while i was a bus driver and i drove a ton of kids. Among them were a few special ones.

There was one with which the tism was extremely obvious. Kid got on the bus if he felt like it or he threw a massive fit, despite being 7 he couldn't speak (only whine and yell), pressed the emergecy stop button so much he broke it and still wore a diaper. This i know because one day he went apeshit, pulled down his pants and ran around the bus. The wrangler just told me to stop until he calmed down. It's obvious this kid will need to be cared for most of his life.

The second case and one that caused a minor shitfit with the school was a niglet. Kid was in elementary and he always picked fights with whoever he sat with. Daily. Constantly. When the wrangler tried to discipline the kid or punish him the mother got really pissed and told us that his son had the tism and we should let him be. We did but the fucker was also violent at school with other kids and this time the mom's excuse didn't worked and he was forced to leave.

There is a third case that is dodgy with another one. Kid spent 30 minutes yelling "Driver" to get my attention the first day so i would do shit for him like turning the lights, lower the curtain, honk... Might have the tism but hearing how he spoke i just think he's a bonafide unadulterated retard.

Yeah, I'd qualify the statement with "Gen X British culture". I'm pushing 30 and it was already before my time, and I'd be surprised if someone else my age was familiar with it. It's not obscure but it hasn't held up as well as some of its contemporaries.

And yeah, it was... alright. "And frankly, it’s the best piece of fiction ever"? "Every other political satire or satire in general pales in comparison"? That's a fucking wild take. I've never met anyone who would bat for it that hard. If someone's going to defend the show, they'll point to the quality of the puppetry, which made up for a lot of the weak writing. If you weren't a nerd impressed by the technical skill and you weren't a big fan of caricature humour, then there really wasn't a lot to write home about.
Oh man, I wanted to read more from this guy but he's been banned and I can't find his script. Tears in rain etc.
Use Arctic Shift.

As an American trust me, niggers are not capable of acting better. You can civilize some of them but it requires lynching the more uppity ones.

because reddit is designed by retards, instead of them not seeing your comments it means you can't see or reply to theirs.
I had two accounts with the same username except an l was a 1 or something. But to a casual observer they looked the same.

Anyway, when someone would reply to me, then block me, I switch to the alt and do the same to them. Good god that made them mad. It was the old uno-reverse

It hit early millennials as well. Kids born in the 80s would have watched some Spitting image.

If you weren't there you really can't understand how big an impact the series had or the culture around it. You were born in a different era where you didn't experience pre-internet culture and what an event a TV series could be. It was exceptionally well done and often took swings at people everyone hated but some how just kept crawling back into power. It wasn't the soft of comedy you belly laugh at, but it was vicious and smart in how it took people on. The format would later evolve into Bo Selecta, which you are probably more familiar with in your age group.
