To play Devil's Advocate, I lived in bumfuck nowhere for a few years. Small towns aren't perfect either. Great breeding grounds for methheads and corrupt police, politicians, and old people on shadowy committees who want to play petty tyrant knowing no one can legally stop them. Also forests creep me out. So what I'm trying to say is that your options are some homeless guy shits on the ground or your wife gets taken by Bigfoot into the woods.

You know for a bunch of people that talk about how "We need to protect the environment", they always seem to prefer living in cities that are heavily polluted and crowded with people that increases the carbon footprint. Small towns aren't perfect obviously, but what I find crazy is how this person finds places with lush green mountains and ocean areas boring? It'll never not amuse me about how much Redditors go on about caring for the environment but want the country side to be the exact same overcrowded, bughive cities that they live in. Its like I said before, these people would burn down the rainforest if it meant they could build a city that housed millions of 3rd world migrants if given the choice.

I'm not surprised but want to add that these people are pretty open about stuff like self-defense against a home invader is wrong because that robber is actually just a poor/ mentally ill person and if only we made, like a law that removes all poverty (by for example abolishing police and prisons to use the money for welfare/healthcare/whatever) then there would be no reason to steal, so there would be no crime.
It's really hard for people nowadays to agree with someone they don't like, or to at least look into the details themselves. It's like no one ever thinks "hold on, I might not have the whole story here".
Ahead of the actual crazies or criminals, these people need to go first. There is a criminal element to every society but what is worse are those that will undermine society and encourage such behaviors to fester and spread.
