reddit General

I can certain be empathetic with the reddit jannies wanting reddit to do something about the anitvax stuff, but reddit won't spite its financial interests nor should it. The more effective protest is to find an alternative to reddit. Deny them your time and money.
You think reddit basement dwelling fat powermods will do the effort to go to another platform? lol

I mean, if they go away, reddit will be freed of their bitching, no?

They also killed off secret santa which was a really big cultural tentpole (and favorite holiday activity) for the site so both the jannies and Reddit leadership are having a contest of how much of their nose they can cut off to spite the other's face.

I don't think you understand how redditoids operate. They exist to force their dumb, sterile form of internet culture on everyone, making their own reddit alternative defeats their reason for enjoying reddit.

Like how hydroxychloroquinine was widely considered safe and on the WHO’s list of essential medications prior to 2020 as an anti-malarial drug and long-term treatment for certain other issues, and now the Reddit “I fucking love science” crowd considers it little more than fish tank medication, on par with homeopathic remedies and essential oils. Oh but they're definitely the only smart, scientifically-minded ones in a sea of "denialists" and "conspiracy theorists".
COVID-19 has made me hate Reddit even more because they're constantly talking about medicine now.

It's the design of Reddit. The highly upvoted comments on the popular subs are always brainless shit from people who have no idea what they're talking about. Someone who actually works in medicine will come in and correct one of the morons but that comment will be buried forever at like one upvote. The average Reddit user has the attention span of a gnat and they don't even bother looking at all the hidden comments, so it just turns into this massive feedback loop of idiocy.

What a fucking terrible platform. Old-style forums were much better.

Okay, which one of you jokers did this?!

I was just perusing r/nonewnormal, seeing as it's been (quite curiously) quarantined but not banned yet, checking out what the boomers are up to... lo and behold, I see papa Nool on the frontpage.

EDIT: Thx @Cliff Booth for the plebbit archive link.
Juanbutnotforgotten
Rest in piss, and hopefully Ethan will stream the funeral

Ledditors really take their time to figure this out.

If they had a scientific basis to do so, you could maybe consider it justifiable (though I wouldn't personally).

For example, if it was people saying that washing yourself in cow dung would cure coronavirus (something which happened in India), okay, fair enough. Id rather let people talk about the things they want to, make their own choices, and present them with information which is correct to allow them to make an informed choice.

Thats the bedrock of liberal culture. You present people with information, and allow them to make their own choice on the matter.

What's happening with covid is that there was very little information to begin with, most governments published contradictory information, and, in a bid that resembles ivory tower elites thinking "the average person can't handle the truth!", information or discussion is being suppressed.

Talk to your doctor about hydroxychloroquinine. Go into whatever other medical treatments that you want to go into, as long as you are informed of all the information, thats all that should matter, right?

But, apparently not. You can't bring up the possible benefits of Ivermectin, only the cons. You can't bring up the cons of certain prevention plans, only the negatives.

Sucks I guess
