Unless it's a case where they just literally had unprotected sex and would immediately know pregnancy is likely, Because:

1. It would take 4 weeks for a women to even know she's pregnant and missed her period, and by then there are only 2 weeks left to schedule an abortion.
2. If birth control fails, a woman isn't going to immediately know she's pregnant.
3. Most serious birth defects don't actually show up on ultrasound or amniotic fluid testing until about 3 to 5 months into the pregnancy. This can happen with genuinely wanted pregnancies.
