Also easy to park.

Because yeah europe tends to be more man-centric so walking distances are the norm.
But good chunk of the roads are shit.
Mississipi felt too huge on foot but the roads where silky smooth.

Of course we could learn from each other.

This is a false meme spread by reddit urbanists whose education consists of watching YouTube. You cannot cite a single city in the entire country that went bankrupt due to this "ponzi scheme". Cities where all the jobs were shipped to China and as a result lost their population don't count. The numbers don't line up; most cities spend more on police, fire, schools (especially schools), and other services than on infrastructure. Look at a city budget or property tax bill sometime.

Thanks for saying it, I was going to inform him as well. If he really wanted an example he could've picked close to Gettysburg where in the last few decades strip malls, grocery chains, and fast food chains have buyed up land on the outskirts of the town and battlefield that aren't under protection to get that sweet sweet tourist money.

I agree that hes a cunt but part of me also says this is the type of shit some HOA Karen would do when she moved into a family neighborhood, because "it looks tacky!" Its not here or there, I just hate shit like HOAs and pearlclutchers and busybodies so Im bitching about that.

I dont necessarily hate cars, but one thing I agree with them on is that car 'culture' and hating the idea of neighborhoods having shit like a walkable or bikable strip mall 'shopping center' or something, is skind of dumb. I kind of agree that suburban and exurban 'sprawl' is dumb not because I think it should be pod-life, a lot of city neighborhoods arent, and a lot of new subdivision type developments built post 2000 are-- but because its kind of stupid and wasteful. Its an extension of consoomerism in a way, it makes shit inconvenient so that they can sell you 'convenience'.
