reddit General

And why do you think reddit got pozzed?
Websites where the mods do the bare minim by removing spam and illegal content rarely become the dung heap reddit currently is. It's reddit's admins that turned the website into what it currently is: they promoted the influx of genderfreaks, commies and SJWs by sanitizing the website through draconian rules, selective bans against "politically incorrect" subs like r/FatPeopleHate and r/TheDonald, fostering the creation of echo chambers and letting jannies accumulate ridiculous power and letting them use and abuse it with impunity whenever the target is wrongthink.
The same thing happened on Something Awful ~2006 and had ruined the site by 2008. A lot of the mods from AHS and ShitRedditSays were/are former goons which I'm sure there is no connection.

  • Make mods unable to post and unable to gain karma in that sub.
  • Powermods should all be banned, aka limit the amount of people you can moderate, not just the number of subs. So either 1 sub with 10 million people, or 20 subs with 5 people. Or maybe base it on how many posts to a sub per day.
  • If you're found to be breaking these rules in some way, ban all accounts for that person from gaining karma, in perpetuity.
  • Overall make modding feed less into the average redditors narcissism
  • Rename it from mod to janitor, since that's all they should be doing.
Although none of this will actually fix the problems of reddit, mainly being it's a giant echo chamber and modding attracts narcissists who will force their worldview on everyone else.
No one should be modded without the subreddit's creator's consent.

The biggest issue with reddit is how anyone can create a new subreddit just like that and create a new 'forum' that requires moderation. If Reddit stopped the creation of new subreddits unless personally authorised then it'd at least start to plug up the shitshow. Have special accounts for people to shill their 'thing' whether it be a new videogame, film, niche hobby or some onlyfans thot's fanpage on the condition that THEY moderate it and if it goes down, it doesn't come back up again.

Once there's a vague limit of subreddits then actual subreddit culls would matter, but right now anyone can simply create /r/hittingchildrenwithcrowbars5 and continue posting.

Tim Buckley of Ctrl+Alt+Del fame made a comic satirizing the Hogwarts Legacy outrage.

And as expected, the lead tranny janny of r/gamingcirclejerk gave a very sensible response..

accusing Tim Buckley of sending his nudes to minors. (And linking to Malcolm X for some reason.)

When people called him out on his baseless claims he floundered and said "T-Tim deleted the logs! Buckley (an American) went to Google HQ to personally ask for them to scrub the evidence under European law! Ask someone else for the evidence!"

This tranny janny, Train-Silver, has been on a tear against Hogwarts Legacy, weaponizing the subreddit against the game and ironically turning it into its own circlejerk of JK Rowling hate (really screams "video games discussion", doesn't it?).

Whenever I see things like this it reminds me that all people like Train-Silver (and other troons like Keffals and Dong-Gone) want is their own version of KiwiFarms that's catered to them and them alone. They want to be able to shittalk in a space they control, consequence-free as long as the other side doesn't get to talk. But unlike KF, they also want to be able to lead actual harassment mobs to get people fired or otherwise financially harmed.

Remember, people like this guy are the good guys, anyone who disagrees with this is a bad guy for sympathizing with a transphobe's wife having a miscarriage!

Edit: Somehow the janny got suspended LMAO

Guess his fight against Hogwarts Legacy ended early. But the subreddit he's weaponized is still keeping the war effort going.

Its a real mystery as to why there are no actual communities online anymore.

I looked into it and the allegations are 11 years old and there's basically no evidence. It should be dismissed just on the fact that if it was true it would have been posted in his KF thread when it was first made.

Not just here. I'm pretty sure that the SA CAD megathread would have been all over that if they could pin some credible sexual misconduct to him.
If even goons can't accuse you of being a sex pest, it's over!

I always loved how Reddit removed any subreddit deemed anti-troon (i.e - r/SuperStraight and r/GenderCritical), as well as r/Chinesetourists and some subreddits that criticized certain peoples on the grounds of "hate speech", yet r/Hapas, r/Aznidentity and other "problematic" subreddits are allowed to stay. As the latter two subreddits are just an echo chamber of vile shit towards things they hate (like their parents or the "oppressive West").
Everyone always moans about Reddit's terrible mods. But does anyone have a solution? Paid moderators? Reddit has too many fucking subreddits and an enormous userbase that cover almost every subjects in existence.
I'd suggest things like cracking down on mods before they get out of hand or doing background checks on their users to avoid the r/Antiwork fiasco, but Reddit's irredeemable and nothing will truly fix that shithole. Though you could say that about any website that has a large userbase and sees high amounts of web traffic everyday.

No matter what, you're not going to completely get rid individual biases/POV. And there will always be general groupthink among the userbase.

I mean it's funny you say that because underneath all the virtue signalling, liberalism and progressive, pro-trans bullshit Reddit, at the end of the day, is just another social media website coopted by the state department for propaganda purposes. The state of Reddit is a reflection of the state of America, rabid groupthink where you're constantly trying to be convinced that up is down and men are women and anyone labeled "the enemy" at the time is banned, censored and Trotsky'd out of existence. Why else do you the top post of r/pics is always in support of current thing?

Powermods are intentional, a small band of obsessive freaks holding all the power.

The biggest issue Reddit has is the upvote/downvote system. There is no more cancerous fucking social media "feature" than Reddit's implementation of likes. It makes groupthink and dogpiling impossible to avoid on the site.

When even Twitter does such a simple feature (likes and dislikes) better, you know you've really fucked up. Replace them with normal likes and you'll have a much less retarded foundation to build from.

It's especially bad on anime subs like r/OnePunchMan actual criticism or disccusion gets downvoted and hidden in "controversial" while the top comments are all vapid jokes and terrible, cult-like takes.

It's the same thing for pretty much any subreddit of a big videogame. People will start talking about issues with the game on the subreddit, either the devs or a superfan will contact the admins and next thing there will be bans handed out and threads deleted if users mention the issues.

The end result is that the entire reddit is just shit memes and "omg, this game changed my life" when the reality is that it has problems that are being completely ignored because reddit doesn't do hurt feelings.

To be fair the original intent was for the karma system to be used to denote "high quality" content more than a "i agree/disagree" button. Of course, like with youtube's original 5 star rating its a good idea thats incompatible with how people interact with these sites because they can only think in binary "i like this/i don't like this" terms.

The downvote button was meant to hide spam. Just like the report button was meant for shit that could get the subreddit and the website in general in trouble.

Now it's just the trigger buttons.

"Bringing around a misogynist is like bringing around a racist. Just ask them questions and they'll paint themselves into a corner!" Are you sure about that? Do you really want to argue against FBI crime stats? Oh wait, it's a "woman" on reddit so facts don't matter.
